Saw a pair of Husky 350s sitting out front at the local Lowes yesterday, returned items with no warranty, price at $210. Wondered if there is a quick and dirty way to tell if what went wrong with them to cause them to be returned did any lasting damage. My first guess would be that the owner used straight gas and locked up the motor. If those saws sit too long, I'll be tempted to offer a yard sale price for both of them. Clem.

its been my experience that returns are usually due to owner lack of knowledge.
if i was after the 350 id have to do that.
but if no waranty ,i personally think u can talkum dn . if u got sme skill in that department . after all the warranty is what buying new is all about. offer to take both for 300 and converse withum so they dont feel like u overpowering them or nothin. like as not theyask the big boss and he says 350 . then its your choice. but i believe they would actually be like new, if u know how to adjustum rite. nobody at lowes does. good luck.

I am sure Lowes would not sell them if they had run straight gas, even they have a reputation of some sort.

Probably someone bought them after a storm and took them back when they were done, or used them to clean up the yard and then took them back.

Take off the mufffler and inspect the piston and cylinder. If they look good offer 300 for both

Someone might have bought these 350's for a one time use. They were probably to cheap to rent the saws or hire someone.

I picked up a craftsman gas powered hedge trimmer for home use a few years ago. The hedge trimmer was in the original box and priced at 50% off of new. Seems the owner didn't like the vibration. I've been using it with no problems ever since!

There are deals like this to be had. But, just like the other members said, you have to look it over real good!

Lowes will take back anything you want to return and put it back on the shelf regardless of what is wrong with it. I have taken items back that clearly were defective, and found them on the shelf the next day in the same condition as I returned them. I try to avoid buying anything from Lowes that is i an opened box.

Thanks for the feedback guys, was tempted by the price, thinking I could get it a little lower, but would rather buy from a shop, get new, and have the assurance of warranty, and a shop owner that want to please. Clem.

If they crank over and feel like they have compression, it sounds like a fair buy.I would offer them a little less though just to allow for unknowns.

Those models are real easy to work on.
I have a factory service tape showing a factory tech taking the crank out of one of those, and back together again in about 15 or 20 minutes.

I sell them as 2150 Jonsereds.

They are about equal to or maybe a little better than 025 Stihls.
