Bar Oil and Liars

I happen to like the bar oil from Tractors Supply, Poulan Bar Oil, or 10-30, 5-30, 10-40, and Trans Fluid.

I don't like Liars or people that accuse others of being Liars without just cause and supporting documentation.

Uhhhh..... Holy crap. I just spent a half an hour reading this thread. Not a complete waste of time I might add. We're human. And humans are entertaining.

In regards to bar oil, ..... I must sheeplishly admit I didn't know that bar and chain oil was "tacky" until Melvin Lentz told me to stop using Mobil 5w30 in my Rotax last summer. He laughed "with" me, not "at" me, for almost twenty minutes after he saw me filling my oiling jacket...... Ignorance is bliss.

Russ, I've been in both Dan's and Dave's shops and seen both of them working.  It's obvious to me that Dave's been doing it a lot longer than Dan and if Dave were to somehow have asked to see the innards of one of Dan's saws I'd put money on the reason being to see why a particular saw might not be running to fair potential -- not any sort of attempt at gleaning secrets.

I have read everything still on the server, and maybe more, because I've been following this thread since its inception.  But I have not read it all again today and having said that, the impression I have is that Dave had called you a liar only in the sense that you were insinuating he'd wanted to see inside to try and learn something.  In handling jugs and pistons and complete hotsaws and talking with him about them all in his shop, I firmly believe there's little going on in the saw racing world he hasn't already tried or at least know about.

I guess it's unfortunate you two aren't getting along right now.  Russ, I like you, but if it comes to having to choose between you and Dave it would be him at this point.  Sorry.&nbps; I hope I never have to take the choice.

I don`t expect to make you choose between Dave and I. You know that I respect a person who will speak out whether I agree with them or not. The same goes for Tony. We all have our own experiences to judge people and events by and obviously I don`t know Dave in the way that you do, so I`m glad that you can offer your first hand experience with him.

I still maintain however, that we are all known by the company we keep. Don`t you agree?

I did not mean to insinuate that you would be thought poorly of because of your friendship with Dave, nor would Dave be thought poorly of because of his association with you.
