Yeah GB have made a few inroads into consistency with their EVO chain from what I've heard but when your main aim is to cuts costs AND get it made in China consistency is a lofty goal. The Chinese company you deal with outsource. Then the outsourcing company outsources etc etc. In the end you don't know where the hell it comes from. The best Chinese chain I've used is from the link below. Holds an edge as good as any chain I've used but is probably TOO hard. It stretches a bit too much when hot and I've had the odd tiestrap shatter when breaking chains. It also tends to come out the box pretty beat up and it has no indication of guage anywhere on the chain. It seems to be a bit of a hybrid design between Oregon and Carlton and Carlton presets fit perfectly. The guage is also consistent right through the drivelink and not "stepped down" like Carlton etc. Best part is that you can buy 100' of chain as unassembled components for the same price as an assembled 100' roll! (ideal for you racers - unless you started winning with it then you'd be run out of town...). I've never dealt with them direct, only through a 3rd party in China...
well me and the young bloke went out again to cut some more wood it has been interesting the last two times out there the trees have all been
on the tricky side to say the least had to thread the needle on his small one but it was fun should of got a pic of what i had to dodge
