yeah but it's got a pissy small spline clutch

Ah phooey. You're only upset because you wanted to run a 9 pin .404" rim on it :D
Small splines are OK mate. You don't really want to run a 25" 3/8" bar and 8 pin rim on it anyway do you? Oh...

...you probably do...

matt you wanted to know what the BG chain was like have a look at the 1st & 3rd cutters that says it all , durability well it's like oregon so if you need practice sharpening by all means get some and it is sooooooo easy to sharpen cutters are soft just like oregon

stretch wasn't to bad but i still wouldn't pay $270 a roll

I gather you mean GB and not BG? :) Yeah GB have made a few inroads into consistency with their EVO chain from what I've heard but when your main aim is to cuts costs AND get it made in China consistency is a lofty goal. The Chinese company you deal with outsource. Then the outsourcing company outsources etc etc. In the end you don't know where the hell it comes from. The best Chinese chain I've used is from the link below. Holds an edge as good as any chain I've used but is probably TOO hard. It stretches a bit too much when hot and I've had the odd tiestrap shatter when breaking chains. It also tends to come out the box pretty beat up and it has no indication of guage anywhere on the chain. It seems to be a bit of a hybrid design between Oregon and Carlton and Carlton presets fit perfectly. The guage is also consistent right through the drivelink and not "stepped down" like Carlton etc. Best part is that you can buy 100' of chain as unassembled components for the same price as an assembled 100' roll! (ideal for you racers :D - unless you started winning with it then you'd be run out of town...). I've never dealt with them direct, only through a 3rd party in China...

saw chain direct from
