Mentioned that I was interested in a 70cc project saw; preferably an MS 460.

Grizzly Adams 86 suggested that I meet him at one of his favorite area dealers. I was literally overwhelmed. Did not find what I was looking for, but it was a lot of fun. Even ran into Stihl Livin!

Not a sponsor, so I can't promote it, but near Red Wing, Minnesota.

I'll bet that there are lots of other places like this in small towns around the country (as well as Guido Salvage's back yard), where stuff accumulates and gets saved, rather than going directly to the scrap pile.

This place had been in business, then bought by the current owner's Dad, and had gone through several brands through the years: McCulloch, Homelite, Jonsered, STIHL, etc. The best part is that he could tell you something about almost every saw carcass you picked up !

A couple of other AS members are more familiar with this place and probably can share more info on his background.

Not currently working on it, but the thought of a 440/460 hybrid is starting to make me drool. Having the power of my ported 046 and the wt of my 044 would be just awesome. I'm starting to kick myself for not picking up one of those fried 044/440s I saw on ebay earlier this year. Then you would just need to find a skidder molested 046/460 with a good piston & cyl and ....

I think Brian is on to something, it would definitely be a hard wt/pwr combo to beat.

And bringing it to a GTG with just a 440 sticker on it would be loads of fun!

wow,what a huge toy box !

Wow, reviving an old thread, my post above is almost 4 years old!!!

I do now own a killer Hybrid (and a few others), and a killer ported 460. They run neck and neck, and finished 1 + 2 in the Upstate NY GTG 77 cc shootout earlier this spring.

CFB did the Hybrid, Dr Al did the 460, both have ported 046 D jugs and OEM 460 pistons.
