LOL! Which saw do you prefer for quartering venny-son? Sawzall works for me!

I've only knocked down one fat doe... .45-70 got her :D . Now I'm carrying my fathers 6.5 Swede Carbine. Fine little rifle! He bought it for $33 from the back of a magazine while in college and never got to shoot a deer w/ it so I'm gonna do the honors - I hope!

I used a double bit axe to split the pelvic bone when I get home.
Only thing I had handy at the time.
I have used a sawzall for the ribs " used to save them also" but not no more.
yesterday I cut a load of wood then walk out to my stand, Twenty minutes later I heard a grut behind me then saw the small buck chasing a big doe.
two shots, two down. I used my 30-06 Winchester model 70 light weight.
My Dads Gun is a Marlin 35. Havent use it sense it was past down to me.

Not at all... I've been wonderin' how long the 361 was gonna be you're small saw! :chainsaw:

I can't wait to see a 5100s w/ full wrap and some monster dogs! :rockn:

Well, I was hot in pursuit of the monster dawgs - but I think I had 5 people interested, including myself. I couldn't justify the set-up cost to get them made - a single dawg would have been around $25 plus priority mail S&H - far from competitive. Full wrap handle, now that is a long shot - heated handles, that is a great idea!

Now that's the way to do it! Good time management.

I knocked down the larger of two does (we're allowed 10 this year - plus 2 antlered) and her companion lingered for a couple of minutes. I needed to take her as well since there are WAY too many does down here, but was huntin' on a friends land and he's not quite up to speed on proper thinning of the population.

We've also got way too many 40lb fawns this time of year as a result. They should be thinned as well. Coyote habitat and such is so bad that the deer are overpopulating and the ONLY checks on it are A) starvation, B) getting hit by cars, and C) hunters... HMMMM I'll take 'C' !:hmm3grin2orange:

I have a weak spot for Marlin lever guns myself... After the 6.5 Swede scores one I'll probably employ a Marlin .357 octagon barrel 1894... That'll be pretty cool! 180gr Cor-Bons thru a 24" barrel...heh, heh, heh... Or maybe a .30-30 octagon 336, or a .44mag 1894... what I really need is a .38-55 336and maybe a .35rem 336...:dizzy: (worse than saws for me...wayyyy worse....)

Gotta be a Dolmar owner here w/ a plasma cutter that can chop out some dawgs. Or just fill and re-drill some other dawgs to make the mounting work.

Wrap handle would be more challenging. This is all yet another reason Dolmar needs to continue to promote thier product to consumers and vendors alike. Lack of aftermarket support can be a deal breaker for *some*folks.

Well some men Golf and have all kinds of clubs, thats there hobby.
Me I'll take guns and chainsaws.
I have been looking at that T C encore.
Them octogon barrels must be hard to find.

I'm glad they golf...keeps 'em out of the gun shops and saw shops and woods...

Encore would be a blast - go for it! I've got a Contender w/ a few barrels but it's a lot more limited than the Encore when it comes to rifle calibers. Guy at the saw shop shoots a contender w/ 7mm-08 barrel and it sounds like a handy setup. Contender won't handle the more 'spirited' calibers...

I've used handguns before and I do like being able to shoot on my strong side (right handed) more easily than w/ a rifle. I sit in tree stands and it's inevitable the deer come up just behind my right shoulder...

L8R... gotto go chop up some little pesky trees...

yea I hear ya, I was wasting time waiting for the battery to charge up in the woods truck. Looks Like I got a short some where. Grrrrrrrr.
Well Knifes are sharpened, gun cleaned, battery charged, and chainsaws ready. Looks like my day is about to begin.

Na.. the best solution is keep buying until your run out of money, then sell them a 50% loss to AS members, then with the new money buy more, and.... and... eventually you just own one this way.... but you'll be happy.

oh yes, and divorced...

I'm not THAT greedy... How about all the 066/660's and 044/440's for now. That will only leave you with 54, but it's a start. You may as well throw in the 084's too, but you can keep the 3120s until later in the cycle...
