When i was doing line clearance there was a guy that sat in his pine tree for 3 days because he didn't want us cutting it down. He planted the tree but it was on the power company's property and when it started to grow into the wire we had to cut it down. It ended up going to court and he lost.

give em an inch and they'll ask for a foot... etc, etc, etc,

NEVER GIVE A INCH

This plan has been worked on since at least 2011, they've had all the time possible to comment, and now they wanna sue? the need to find some rope and pee up it

You have some kind of anti-gravity mechanism? App? Magic? Just wondering...

We don't know what kind of logging systems would be used. Remember, you work on flat ground around Ft Lewis. My solution would be to designate the hippy trees as wildlife trees and work around them.

Sounds like a bad precedent. Don't want an area logged? You don't have to have lawyers now. Just climb a tree and stay up there for a while.

We could enlist a bunch of out of work loggers to "sit" in the trees, give em a couple of weeks to get used to us hanging around, then quietly start dismantling there platforms and camps... or wait until all the bunny huggers are gone and fire up the saws.

I wonder if the mild weather has anything to do with it.
I also find it hard to realize that Jerry Franklin has opposition from the so called enviros. What a shock it must be for him!

Anybody ever debated religion with someone who truly believes something you don't... Reminds me of that, we got this here book that says all of youz are bad peoples, and your a gonna burn...

To clear cuts are bad and all logging is a blight on the earth...

They are poorly informed monkeys doing whatever some guru tells them to do, or worse they are getting paid to do this

That thing they keep saying -- "Native Forest" -- is a buzz phrase I haven't had to deal with yet. It seems to mean "Neither old-growth, which we can't agree on a definition for, nor commercial forest, which we've already given up for lost ecologically". Gotta admit, I hope I never do have to deal with that kind of nebulous hand-wringing.

We thinned some Native Forest here. It was like there, came back after a burn but was in the 80 year old range. The wildlife biologist that was here at the time said he "would not allow that to happen again." He appeals timber sales for retirement fun.
So, I guess I was familiar with the term but never thought it to be special.

I say we go down to Ken Kessey's old place resurrect Further, give Tarzan, greenwedge, forestryworks, pac, gologit, CCC4, Wowzers, me, and a few others some tie dyed hickory shirts, go for a road trip get escorted in by some classic VW beetles blaring the Grateful Dead, or Phish. Start cutting in trios, falling the trees out and away, skip every 300' or so...The bastards wouldn't know what hit em until the first dozen or so trees hit the ground, be like a SEAL team with chainsaws...

I could be there faster than Clint (ccc4). Think of the panic I could cause with the various barber chairs and busted hinges I'm infamous for.

ok husk your in.

Log lengths, Hel we'll just dump and run, let the rigging rats figure out how to fix the mess. They are blocking a road building project first and foremost, once we have access to the DLZ (deLoggerized zone), it become a logistical nightmare to block us from really reaping some havoc.

Actually husk even has a perfect backstory, doctor, from texas, well educated (we hope), from a state with no trees, of course he's a tree hugger... think you can handle catching a 390 and a tin hat being dropped from a hellicoptor?
