You are swamped with calls, coming off back-to-back 80 hour weeks and you need to work to get stuff done so you don't fall even further behind. Mind you I left the corporate world and 60-70 hour weeks to have more time with my family.

We are a small company and I am faced with one of the toughest situations I have been in for 10 years. I can't get everything done for my customers in a timely fashion and certainly have a hard time in communicating with them to let them know the situation.

I need to buckle down and make some calls instead of playing on this site.

Take care!!!

Have a good week!!!

Make hay while the sun is shining, an old saying that is right for you now.

sub out a climber to get the stuff on the ground (with the understanding it needs to be a neat mess) and come by later to chip it

or sub out a couple jobs to another company you know and trust.

or you can get a head lamp and some flood lights and stay out later.

be glad for the feast though man. good luck with it.

Or move jobs to the winter... dormant pruning, some removals, the crappier jobs... like that you've got your work for now, and you've got stuff to do in the winter too.

1st be thankful, then hire more help. I wouldn't raise prices going into winter though. Be more efficient and enjoy the work. I'm sure it will slow down in a few months..... Mike

Theres some good advice there, I often quote 2 prices when im real busy with winter and summer prices (winter obviously being cheaper)

Helps free up a heavy schedule and insure youve got work on in the quieter months and keep clients happy to wait.

I wish I had your problems. I see so many posts on here lately that I know many of you guys are not working too much these days, unlike this poster. The economy has gone :censored: -up down in Austin and the phone is not ringing. I'll hang tough for the next few weeks, hang fliers this coming week, but if things don't change, I may start applying for city and county tree jobs. While I hate working a scheduled M-F type gig, I hate seeing no money coming in, more.

Thanks for your input.

I am thankful for the situation.

No climbers in the area to sub work out to.

No companies that I trust.

Most competitors in the are part-time guys.

Not going to hire more help....been there and done that....I have one good crew and we will fight through this tough period.

The wind that came through here 2 weeks ago caused so much damage in every direction and hit all of my major customers at the same time...that is why I am swamped.
