I cut at my own place. I bring my MS271 with a 20 and 16 inch bar and spare chains. I take my atv and its trailer, and throw a gallon of oil and a gallon of gas and my 2 in 1 sharpener. Either the whole tree ends up at the house or i run out of gas.

The bucket, saw, gallon of gas, fiskars maul, all go in a 1000LBS capacity wagon that i pull into my woods. I have no tractor or ATV and its to thick for my truck to get very far. So the wagon brings everything back OUT including the tree that gets bucked and split right were it fell.

I'm surprised more people don't take a firearm with them. Mine goes on after my wallet daily.

My Glock 43 goes in my right front pocket when I am anywhere except my office (due to company policy). I have a Glock 19 or 17 in the console 24/7. My truck gets locked in my shop at night so I don't even bring the truck gun in the house.

I have a Combat Lifesaver bag in the truck and 2 Cat-T tourniquets within reach anytime I have a saw or piece of equipment running, usually in the leg pocket of my overalls.

I typically take a 261c/026 pro and my 441c cutting firewood. For big removals, I take the above but also my 131. I will grab a 460 or 461 as well. I don't currently run a top handle, even though I climb on most of my side jobs. I prefer a 026 with a 16" bar for topping out. I may have to try one of the new little Echo 2511s though. I picked one up at a dealer recently and that saw is LIGHT.

Hardhat and glasses if just cutting firewood, but will add chainsaw chaps or pants if I'm doing big removals.

I would be worried about that pile of logs falling on me while driving that load.

I have a single post in the front center that stands 4’ high. I’ve never had wood come forward on me it always wants to unload itself on steep grades. Couple straps and I can go up and down hills with ease.

LOL, yeah Im not the average weekend woodcutter. Im a logger, that's why my list is what it is. I didn't even bother getting into all the tools and misc stuff that goes with me to work every day.

I realize you live in Canada and the culture is a little different there. My choice to carry a firearm is a natural and appsolute one guaranteed by our constitution. Sounds like you live in the type of wonderland that most of us would love but we live in the reality that evil exists.

I always take "try-out" saws to the woods, and then end-up coming back to get a "good" one to finish cutting wood.

I have whatever I may need and cut on 20 acres of family property with wood to cut for years. If im brushing i use my g450avs, 35cc zomax, both ryobis, or my 40cc Tanaka. For bigger stuff i use my tanaka 5601, surpass 56cc, husqy 365 clone, and a stihl 070 clone for a few dead gaints on the property.

Heated handle 261 is my go to saw, especially now that it's ported. I run it for everything. I set it up with .325 for working in the woods and 3/8 for bucking firewood. It's a great little saw.

Does any body take water you know the stuff that really tastes good after running your gas tanks dry. Sixty gallons for my personal use and sixty gallons for the fire extinguisher. Yes it is nice to have a shower now and then. I used to pack for a month then a couple of years ago I got snowed in. I was getting a little nervous when I got to two days of running out. I take any thing that might make me comfortable and some glue for the air mattresses. I plan on staying for three weeks, but pack for six. Having some extra macaroni and cheese with some soup does not take that much space. In three months I can cut all the wood that I can haul and sell for a year. Thanks

I have considered a fire arm, but it is such a problem to transport. My friends who are guards are required to ask me if I am armed. If I say yes they have to check out my weapon and papers. If I say no they tell me it would be a good idea to have some protection. The bears just sniff around the area where I wash dishes then they leave. The deer are only curious. but the cougars concern me a bit. Happily they have not invaded my camp just snoop around my pick up a little. Thanks

When cutting firewood I pack the ms361 and 024 with an extra chain and file for each. I also have an extra plug for the 361 but only because I got a spare with the saw when I bought it in 2006. Last year I had a cant hook given to me so I will start packing it. My tool kit also has a couple bar studs for the 361 but only because I switched the originals for 461 bar studs. Then of course a scrench, orange screwdriver, fuel, bar oil, etc.. I also have chaps, eye pro, ear muffs, and gloves.

In the truck I always have tow straps, ratchet straps, flash light, a leatherman, collpasable shovel, first aid kit, and TP.

Anytime I’m headed into the woods I bring my cell phone and my 9mm. I’ve had a couple sketchy encounters out in the woods.

Oh, and lunch!

Usually start off with a 10mm pistol(I don't play nice with critters), pack up a few sammiches and some cold drinks, 2-3 saws minimum, gas, oil,and perhaps a 4th saw, just in case the other 3 fail. ( an excuse to bring another toy in the woods)

Here goes:
Tractor w/ FEL sometimes pulling (one or both) 8'x32" trailer with 4' racks and / or hydro splitter behind 6' back blade. Other items on tractor include wifi speaker & iPod nano, 2"x30' rachet strap, TP, wisk broom, marking paint, spare leather gloves & cloth liner gloves, 10" crescent, spare saw plugs and cover screws, round & flat file, various clips for hitch pins & 3 pt. attachments, coffee & water.
Saw caddy is in the FEL, it holds 2 saws, log tongs, hook for pulling chains undet logs, helmet, chaps, dry clothes, 3 chains of varying length, 1 18" chain with grab hooks both ends (handiest chain ever!), gallon of bar oil & mix, 1 1/2 gal splitter fuel, 2 steel wedges, 3~6 plastic wedges, scrench, round file, lunch, clevis, 2 ton come-a-long, hatchet, fiskars x27, 8 lb. sledge, spare saw chain, and log scale / builtmore stick.
On my person is knife, phone, wallet.

Need to get a first aid kit.
