I would aim to improve whatever the slowest/most difficult process is. Some toys are fun, but no good if they're not improving the process. Seeing as how splitting wood is what slows me down the most I want to invest in a larger pump and maybe an auto cycle valve, but I would really like one of those atv's with the dumpbox on the back but the lawn mower and dump cart work for now.

Atv trailer would get my vote. Sounds-looks like a fair amount of your wood (especially the good stuff) is mostly atv only accessible. Personally I much prefer to haul wood than drag it, stays cleaner, then my square ground chain last longer too. Heated handles would sure be nice some times too...

I have an acre lot and don't know how I'd get by without my tractor. I got it for $1000 and put another $3-400 in it, Massey 135. So, if you don't need a tractor, I suggest a pre WWI model 1899 Savage in 250-3000. You have almost enough tools, time to go out and have some fun, Joe.

Don't get me wrong, I'd use a tractor (especially one with a bucket and/or brush hog), just not enough to justify the purchase. My little cabin only has enough room to fit an ATV in the storage shed and I'm not a big fan of storing powered equipment outside for multiple reasons. A tractor would also force the purchase of a larger equipment trailer to haul it and I'd like to keep my operation small with a focus on efficiency being it's solely for fun at this point. Right now I've got access to more wood than I can deal with just ATV and pickup access.

My FIL has a nice 9N with a grass mower at his property about an hour away and at some point he'll realize he's not going to ever use it and I'll buy it from him. He'll be 67 this fall and has probably used the thing three times in the last decade.
