14" on my trusty 200T, but I like a 16", having run other companies saws sometimes when traveling. not much difference, I pull up a much bigger saw when I get into large trees anyway.

blocking with a 460/660 is a riot.

I like 16" for the added reach. 14" is great for a tad more cut speed, and maneuverability in the tree. My Elux climb saws all have ported mufflers, so have gobs of power. I run 14" occasionally on them, and always on my 192T's.....

I use a 16" Stihl bar and chain with the .043 kerf on my MS200T. The Stihl dealer tells me it is not recommended for the 200, only for the 192, but it sure cuts a lot faster than the .050 bar and chain. It is also lighter.

Dont you have a problem with bending the bars?

I find the 12 inch bar get caught in the canopy and ropes a lot less then the longer bars, and if I need anything bigger then that I might as well have a bigger saw. I have an old 346 and a new 260 and I run narrow kurf on both.

I use a 14 on my 200t and my 334 and 12 on my cs 3000 if i need more bar i get more saw!

20inch 372xp fullwrap is my climbing saw.

but for the every so often i get the chance to get hung in a tree via crane for some deadwooding i run 14in on the 2hunge baby. yellow tag stihl chain.

.043 kerf ? How do you sharpen? Does the wind deflect that bar much?

The cutter still uses a 5/32 file. Only the kerf and bar are narrower. Stihl says the cutting efficiency is 13% better than the .050 bar and I believe it. Like I said earlier, they do not recommend it for the 200 but I have been using it on two 200s and no problem so far.

4 200t's. All with 14" bars. If you need more bar, you need more saw. A 12 on my old echo 3000's but thats just cuz dey gots no ballz. and that pico crap sux. It bends and snaps on my 200s
