What brand of spark plugs do you like and why,

My dealer now offers platium plugs for saws (bosch), are they worth it?

I'd Like To Declare a new Acronym

UTFSE

Use The F:censored:ing Search Engine

It's popular on other sites I frequent that implement search technology and thread bumping.

Please don't shoot the messenger! :D

So when someone makes another topic of muffler-modding a 361 and asks for instructions or reference someone could just reply with:

UTFSE

Who's coming with me?

Thanks 04ultra for your reply

I did check out the post from a week ago but it dealt with highend plugs (part of my question), whats the big deal for the same amount of time it took to say check the old post you could have just answered the post or if you are upset about a re-post then don't answer the question.

I am sure the topic of spark plugs has been covered many times but so have pretty much every topic that is covered on the board.

And to top it all off, if I would have replied to that post with a question then you guys would have replied with dead post, or other BS. You can't seem to win either have people search and continue to answer questions on old posts or let new posts stand and if it has been covered to death then no one will reply and the post will fall quicky as other posts keep moving up on the board.

Somebody besides NGK makes a spark plug for a saw? Who'd a thunk it!! I still wont switch.

I run champion, They are the only plug the stores near me stock. They seem to work just as good as the bosch that came in the saw stock. Since Im the only running them on this thread I have to ask , Is there any known problem with champion plugs?

I been replacing some Bosch plugs with the same equivalent in a Champion plugs in some High compression woods ported saws and notice no difference. (Yet!);)
Again i am not brand loyal. I have ran all the makers plugs and havent had any problems. I run these in all my saws, no matter the brand of saw. The only saws that i run a colder plug in is my little TH saws.

5 or 6 years ago, working at a Stihl dealer, I noticed cedar cutters were
buying 6 - 10 plugs at a time, bosch wsr6f, because they were fouling out.
They bought new filters, etc. I switched to the champion, and my plug sales
dropped drastically.
Working at the major dealership I do now, we have had a rash of bad new plugs, NGK andBosch both. I am trying to get them to switch, but it will take
a while.

I do not give a crap about brands, except the one's that have continually
bit me in the arse.

There's a lot of good spark plug manufacturers out there. I like Nippondenso plugs the best for chainsaws. Then the runner up would be NGK. Both of these plugs do come from Japan and are top notch in the Quality department. Bosch plugs have been good but most now that are for the lawn and garden industry are not made in germany but india or some third world countries.

The main reason we like Denso (Nippondenso) is a good priced plug that doesn't come back. The U Groove may be a gimmick to some but I just think it starts better with a Denso. We have Zero complains from customers.

we havent tried the denso plugs yet...primarily using Bosch WSR6F and NGK BPMR7A in 2 cycle stuff along wtih the other plugs we use for 4cycle apps.

Bosch WSR6F.

All I run is Bosch. :D

+1

Never had any problems with them and see no need to switch.

Seems like every time I get a used saw though it has one of those Denso's in it, so there must be something good about them.

Never had much luck with any Champion plug in anything cars, trucks, 4-wheelers, lawn mowers, boats, saws, trimmers etc. refuse to ever buy another one.

in 4 cycle stuff Kohler prefers we use Champion. RC12YC in a boatload of z mowers and riders etc

I have run both Bosch and Champion in my 025 and 009. Doubt there is much difference, they both worked well. Champs are also preferred for older Johnson /Evinrude 2-cycles. Never used NGK in a saw but they are a good marine plug, probably be good in a saw as well.

Cheap, old, every day Champions. Never had a bad one. My saws are all older and none rev higher than 7 to 8k, maybe it's the higher revs you guys run at that require the higher-end plugs.

Never had an issue with any plug on a saw- I just use one of those listed as fitting the saw in question. Plugs are cheap.....
