Naaaaaaaaaaa I wouldn't sell you that saw at all. Only way I would let you have is to give it to you, seriously, I don't sell what I get for free. That thing was used by the local fire company and trust me its seen a helluva lot of use Cassey. It runs ok but how long after sucking up fire smoke and debris who knows how much life is left in it. Wanna hear a good one though. A guy brought in a 028 last week. Real nice looking saw. He says got it at a yard sale for, get this now, $5.00. I about died. He said has no fire, can ya fix it. I said we'll see. Today I put a new coil on it, pulled the thing 4 times and she fired right up and ran PERFECT. I was like grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, $5.00. We're not talking a junky looking 028, we're talking a real nice looking 028. I couldn't beleive it, for 5.00 he got one helluva nice saw. Course the coil set him back a tad but still one helluva deal.....................

Well, let me know, Id like a decent small saw. Im not at all discouraged by "project" saws. My $16 460 is coming along nicely!!

$16.00 460, what?????????????????, are you serious????? I got a 046 for free one year at Christmas time. Damn thing runs like its gonna blow to hell any second. I asked the Stihl rep one day is this saw normal. He said I got to admit thats the meanest 046 I've ever seen. Its 7 yrs old now and still going strong.............

LOL....Stihldoc hooked me up with a 460, needed a P&C. Just paid the $16 for shipping, and now have $110 into the P&C, and another $110 into a fuel tank, and impulse tube, and it should be off and running!!!

I also replaced the seals, just to be safe.

Dayummmmmmmmmmmmmmm cool beans. He is right down the road from me, has a place in Vienna. Gotta go see that cat sometime. He's been selling Stihl like wildfire, I got connections that let me know, we both have the same rep, lololol

Then a few years in Manasas, Fairfax, and then that was enough of VA, moved on to Gaithersburg, MD, and then Frederick. With a couple stints in Boca Raton, FL, Ocala, and Winter Springs!!!

Wait a minute he still won't know its me,lol. I've been itching to go see him and may as well meet up with him for the first time in a fun way, ya knows what I means, lol

So, when can I expect that 009?
.
hahahaha, ya after that thing aint cha, lol. I gotta give her a try out myself to see how it acts in the wood. I only got it going at the shop and ran it in my hand. That says little as to how it will run in wood, may not be worth a hoot in hell. I asked the guy that brought it in how old it was and he said about 10 years. I asked how much use and he said ALOTTTTTTTTTTTT in a loud voice so we'll see...............

in the past 2 weeks,(2) 309 Sachs Dolmars with weak cylinders, a 123 Sachs carcus with a usable cylinder, a seized Super Xl Auto, a running Xl12 that needs an oil cap and a pile of picked over Sachs 112, 114 & 116 stuff.
Done cobled one of the 309's together and cut off a peice of angle iron with it already (the 123 pile is smaller now), thinking of starting a side business of getting people into their locked out cars.:hmm3grin2orange:

Damn Marco sounds like you've had a pretty good week too, cool beans........

Kind of a bummer in a way, my local Stihl dealer had it all except for one of the 309's. He's closing later this summer and he had saved the Sachs stuff for me. The Homelites where in the to be scrapped pile. Have hauled alot of stuff out of that little shop over the years. The first thing was a Homelite Zip my father baught around 1959, 2-12-79 it was a new Farmboss, lawnmower, an Ariens trimmer, and a load of project saws over the years. The guy would have parts that a model Stihl dealership wouldn't in stock. :(

Do non-chainsaw freebies count?

If so, My Dad just dropped off a 1979 Hawaiian 21' jet boat to me on Thursday that needs restoring. It's going to take several thousand dollars to have the interior redone, the trailer blasted and painted, the engine (454 Chevy) gone over to make sure it's solid, and the jet checked out. The last time he had it on the water was in 1992. I'll soon find out how well time has treated this old muscle boat.

I'm still unsure if I should thank him or cuss him :D

Not Quite Free But..........!

Just got home from some yard sales and here's todays haul. In the box is a nearly new Husky 55 that saw straight gas but not enough to mark up the piston or the cylinder. just pinned the ring. The Homelight on the right is a very good but under the work bench dirty XP 1000 with a 30" roller tip bar. I don't know anything about the Pioneer except that the tank may leak at the gasket. The other two are just "Fluff"........Bob
