Free Saw of the week, Stihl WOODBOSS 028AV My tree Removal service buddy had dropped something on it and bent the top handlebar and the chain brake would not release, it wouldnt even try to crank but had great compression,, Pulled the mufler and the piston and cylinder looked great and the rings floated ;) When I put it on the work bench I found it had a hole in the fuel cap, the wrong fuel line, no fuel filter, one of the carb nuts was finger tight, and the carb was way out of adjustment, and the air filter was severley dirty and soaked with fuel. I must say it took me longer to get the top handle bar back into shape to fit than it did to fix the fuel problems but I finally got it, The little saw runs great, all Metal clutch cover and a nice 3/8 rim sprocket set up,18" All Pro bar and a LP chain,,,,,,,,, sweet little firewood saw for a lite work

Nice. Know what ya mean 'bout getting one of those handle bars back into the proper shape. Had to do that a couple times, PITA. Have fun with that 028, good saw, probably one of my favorite Stihls.

I just ganked me a clean ole John Deere 91. It seems this is the same as a Remington Mighty Mite, just green and yellow. Previous owner picked it up at a garage sale some years ago, but said it smoked real bad (he suspected bar oil getting transferred to cylinder - I've got to look into that). Looks to be a low-hour unit, I hope the fuel mix was just waaaaaay off and that it's a good 'un.

Also, I passed one along. The hand-me-down Pioneer P26 I cleaned up, tuned up, sharpened up and generally rehabbed was just not getting much attention in my shop. I passed it along to my nephew who's been helping his dad, my brother, get firewood cut. Their main saw is a Stihl MS210, which replaced his Poulan Wind Thang (now his cut-the-Stihl-out-of-the-log saw). I figured they could use another (ANY other) machine in thier operation.

I'll post a pic and update my sig later.

I did not get any saws, but I did get a little ash. Local tree service in the neighborhood was going to the land fill and he remembered me from a few years ago. I took a load of oak from him for firewood. I had him bring me all the trunk sections from two nice 28" ash trees. Nothing wrong with them, the owner didn't want them in the yard.

I will mill most of these for lumber. Real staight and almost no branches in these sections.

i got a free hemlock tree, 2' DBH. More where that came from...i need more space though to store...

also got 2 dozen gingersnaps, hot outta the oven from a firewood client!

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!
