having the right tools always helps my dad has a rotozip and a senco screwgun just like the one you are useing.

i cant wait to get a place of my own so i can do some remodling call me crazy but i enjoy it:dizzy: keep up the good work:cheers:

Once I get past the desk area, I'll enjoy this a lot more. I've got a friend, that remodeling and working on his house is his hobby. It's amazing the stuff this guy does by himself!!! He even put in a basement under an existing house, setting on a rocky hillside in WV, none the less. He tore most of the teeth off the Bobcat he used, and nearly beat himself to death!

After talking to Lisa, my wife, I finally had to come to terms with the fact that I'm not as fit as I was a couple years ago. This Meniers Disease didn't disable me, but it sure slowed me down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I hear you guys that know me laughing:). I'm still wired, lol, but I don't have near the endurance or stamina I once did. Yes, I hear you laughing again, lol. So I had to listen to better judgement and decided against the furnace. I would so love to heat with wood though. I've even though about going ahead with a cheap used stove, just to have something to burn wood in when I want to. But even the chimney alone is a significant investment.

I was wondering the same thing. Sorry the wood heat didn't work out, but oftentimes, the ole lade knows her man better than he knows himself.

That said, I doubt you'd have too much trouble finding someone in your general area willing to exchange cut/split/delivered for saw work.

What's that got to do with anything? It only takes an evening to do your taxes using software like TurboTax or some of the free ones.

Personal or Business taxes??

You will be missed ..............Dont let the door hit ya!!!.:).........Dont forget too open it when you walk back through it ....

Good luck!!!

You have a big project there, and it is looking good.

I know what you mean about taking up a lot of your free time. I finished all the inside of my house with some help from my wife.

It took a while.

Good luck with the project.

You got that right! I'm not working on a slap either. So that means thinset under screwed down concrete board, and then the tile. Take short cuts and you'll have cracked tiles with the grout falling out:( Fortunately, my Dad has a tile wetsaw too:clap:

I spent 10 hours cleaning the concrete slab and prepping before I laid the tile in my bathroom. Plus I used 6" square tile diamond staggered layout.:censored: Didnt want any cracked tiles or thinset mortar popping loose, I know what ya mean there.

Good luck with the remodeling, I love doing that as much as saw stuff, except sanding the drywall.

Layout is super critical to a good tile job. Very time consuming too. I'm leaving the design to my sister and wife. My sis is very good at it, but Lisa will get the final say. Wait a minute! Did I just say that? I thought I got the final say, lol:)

I put one of those blue nano filter in my shopvac yesterday. I'm going to catch what I can while he sands.

Good luck with your man cave! Hope you get it done before end of summer, as I was wanting to contact you about doing my 372xp! It can wait though, no hurry here.....
your progress looks good

tile is very time consuming, my brothers whole countertop and shower are completly tiled. very nice and durable but also very tedious.

Cool Brad... I am in the process of completely redoing my garage/shop at the moment. Not nearly as extensive as what you are doin'. But it made me realize how much junk I actually have when it's all pile up in on the floor, and in the back of my hot rod truck. :)

Good to see you takin' the time for the important stuff in life, like quality of life for your family.

tile underlayment

There's a wonderful product called Schluter ditra which can really help a whole lot if you cannot meet the 1" of wood + cement backer board suggestions...I used it in a foyer which had essentially three different subfloor areas/joist patterns due to some whacky additions and haven't had a single cracked or loose tile...

Good to see you taking care of the family, saws will still be there when your done!! I get tunnel vision really bad when it comes to hobbies and such stuff, it drives the wife nuts!!!
