Stilts rock. No faster way to paint or do acoustical ceilings period. I wouldn't want hard lids in my basement, though, there'd be access panels everywhere if I did that, looks aweful. I'll hang an acoustical when the time comes. Need to get at a shut-off or a damper, or a trap, just pop a tile or 2.

No truer words ever spoken :agree2:

No drywall ceilings in the basement. I had a bi level like that what a PITA.

Can't get to nothing that way.

My basement ceiling is sheet rock. We have tall ceilings and drop ceiling looks like chit. All the pipes are boxed out and 2 vents. one under a valve and one under the 1/2 fridge water line, lazy ass plumber. All other valves are in boiler room and second storage room.

If i needed to get anywhere ill just tear out some Sheetrock, hardest part is re-painting.

Hey Brad: Just another tip Don't use concrete board( DURAROCK) use Hardi-backer. I believe its cheaper too and easier to cut with knife or possibly that Rorozip is what I used. Also does'nt make a mess like the other board (Which crumbles when you cut it even though it has fiberglass mesh to hold it together). Comes in 3'x5' sheets like Durarock and is waterproof too.
Thanks for the tip. Is it readily available?

Let the wife have her head on the Reno. It sounds like it's horrible, but isn't in the long run. If you push a choice she might cave now, but you will only have to re-do it later the way she wanted in the first place.

Stay Safe!

Honestly, I don't care too much. If she likes it, I'm sure I'll like it. Ya know, you begin to think alike after being married 21 years, lol!

to bad I WASN'T Closers brad I could do that for you , taping texturing painting thats what I do for a living and you could throw me one of your old saws.
That really is too bad!

Taking a break from saws is good too. It's real easy to get burned out on saw-building.
But what about those Disstons? I can't seem to find the time and motivations to make them happen.

your nailing the sheetrock? you wuss.:givebeer::jawdrop:
No nails here. That's a Senco screw gun, I think.

Was that an RC plane that i saw on the couch?
Line control. See a few pages back. It's a REAL OLD plane.

Looking good, you sure have your work cut out for you.

I just finished our downstairs bathroom remodel. I don't envy you doing the whole basement.

There's plenty of time for restoring your old saws later. Fixing up the house is always the priority over saw restorations unless there's a special small engine show or vintage equipment show that you want to exhibit your stuff at. I think now though I'm going to take the liberty of doing some other stuff to your 797...:)

I've never seen a pair of stilts used on a building site here for gyprock/plastering or for anything else ever.

I couldn't believe it when watching a movie once and seeing your tradies running around on stilts on a building site.
Looked like fun, but I think our Work Cover boys would have fits.

I like then and they save a lot of time!

I like the Corsair!

Looks like a fun project. A lot of work, but it will feel really good when it's done.

But hey, who's the ugly dude in that video, anyway? A helper?

;)

Swing by your local post office and nab up a change of address pack, there is a 10% off coupon in them for Lowes. If not I might have an extra around here somewhere, wife won't let me go there anymore after I used the display toilet. LOL

Time for a little update. The corner where my desk sets is done. The finished part extends out 15' each way from the corner. Thank goodness this part is done. The rest from here on out should be much easier.
