Chris:

Your o26 modded seems to prety much cut with an 036. What has been done to its innards or is that impolite to ask? I'm not sure of the protocol in this regard. Johncinqo ticked me off for asking him how many cows he had once, so I must tread carefully here. Seems to me its times were about 5 sec on a 10 " wood and my unmodded 026 close to 6 sec. I cant remember if any unmodded 346 was run or what its time was.

Crofter,
The times were 5 sec. for yours and 4 sec. for my cut in the wood. If I would of had your chain I should of been in the mid 3's. As far as what has been done with that saw... I have done a few basic things but the numbers are basically stock. If I had one that I could really do a job on I would just to see how it would run with the 346's that have been done all up.

People don't like modding the smaller saws because you only really see huge production adavantage when you are trying to cut big timber. Limbs and stuff are anyways fast to cut off. Another reason is that it's way more fun to have a huge powerful monster than a little powerful monster.

Tell that to the ten or more 346's that were racing at the last get together. They ran on standard gas on up to top fuel. There was alot of attention paid to these saws. Besides it takes a very good builder to get these saw to perform at the level they were performing.
