In the manual it gives a formula I suppose for how much acetylene you could remove out of a given size tank over a period of time before it becomes dangerous. I saw no reason to argue with the ones who wrote the manual.
Actually it's not period of time based, it is withdraw rate, one danger is too fast of a withdraw rate, Acetone gets sucked into the fuel line and causes disruption of gas flow. The other danger is depletion of Acetone in the tank can cause voids in the tank and gassing the tank with acetylene which is volatile at pressures over 15 psi. is dangerous.
