I'm new here so bare with me while I might as questions that are old by now...

We own a nursery and are looking for a big pile of wood chips, 300 to 400 yard more or less. Where do all of you guys go with you chips? if there is anybody local (newburgh area NY) wanna to talk?

Oh boy, you could definitly get some response to this one. I am sure if you call the local tree services you will find most will give you a truckload of chips. But word to the wise, not all chips are worth having. Bugs, disease, and consistency are just some of the things to think about. Also most tree service owners understand the value of a clean load of chips. But rarely are my loads 100% clean.
Good luck

Where you at, PG? If you're nearby I can hook you up with a few loads. It'll take me awhile to put out 3-4 hundred but I can get the word out to other locals.

I'm right south of Newburgh in New Windsor. How much do you think you have? if you can load a 80 yard walking floor I can arrange a truck and I'll pay the trucking to get them down here.

Thanks for the help

The stuff is turning into gold now. There are places that used to charge for tipping that are now paying trip fees.

One can get a small fee for a load of big willow logs what with the competition between the mulch grinders and boiler burners.

I don't have that much, boss. I'll check some other spots for you though.

Hey hows it going? I actually dumped at your lot the other day, any specific side of the pile you want it dumped on? Wasnt too sure where so I tried to get it as close to the main pile as possible. I work for Flanagan Tree Service.

James,

As long as it is close to the main pile you're good, I'll push it up with the loader after you're gone. Those are very nice and fine chips too! That's exactly what we are looking for!! I'm hoping to take that pile away tomorrow or the day after, but just dump in that area and i'll move them around.

You are not the same guy that always gets the mulch from me are you?
Tell John thanks from me!!

Naw not the mulch guy, thats Mike Helms. Ill definatly pass your thanks along to John. Just started working for him a few weeks ago, great guy to work for. Im sure we will be bringing plenty more chips for y'all. Ill inform the other guys on where to dump in the AM if the pile is gone by the time they get there. Have a good one.

I wish!

Not in the midwest. I never heard of a mulch grinder buying logs OR chips. We have to pay to dispose of everything.

If I had more capital, I would start up a power plant and run it on all the truckloads of wood that get thrown away in this area.

Definatly keeping up with the chipper maintenence will keep those chips nice. We check our knives everyday and keep spares and all the tools to change em out in the field if need be. We are currently running 2 Bandit 1590 Intimidator's, awesome machines for sure. They eat up everything we feed them with ease.
