Burning black walnut! Isnt that stuff worth 50 bucks a board foot?

Thanks for the reply. Guess im burning expensive wood. Oops. I thought it was ash bark before i cut it down and seen the core.

Black walnut splits real easy and clean, not stringy, and smells like walnut.

Honey locust??? Kinda dark for it???

Bark looks wrong for the walnut I've seen around here

Now that it's dried out some and I can see its color better, I'm going to have to go with the Walnuts.
