Swapped for an old 24 inch D009 bar and a chain.

As arrived.

Has (once a new rope and handle installed) huge spark- and with a thumb over the spark plug hole huge compression.

Only obvious downside is the spark plug hole has been damaged- oversized for an insert and damaged again, interior of the cylinder is pretty good, as is the piston which is a twin thick ring version.

Great score

I believe so- have top plastics on the way down compliments of another Kiwi saw nut.
Having trouble deciding on trying to find an oversized thread insert to try to repair the plug threads again- or having it welded, drilled and retapped as new again.
Missing the air filter and I have not looked real hard to see if I have a spare- but maybe this is a velocity stack candidate.

Facebook marketplace ad for 266 non running. Ad said not sure what's wrong, will not fire. Happened to be the first to message the guy and ended up picking up this mint 266 for $100. 5 minutes worth of tinkering and runs great. Kill switch was broke and coil wire had a bare spot causing it to short and not fire. 100% oem other than chain. Screws still had red lock tight on threads. Seemsnto have never even been took apart. Guy said he had over 300 messages about saw and couldn't understand why.

Worthy of a nomination for You-Suck-of-the-year award!

My $11 saw and case that I really didn't need, but I have a soft spot for older Poulans. This one is a Micro XXV in Craftsman colors.
The fuel was so wretched, I wouldn't even use it to clean saws with. Little shock that the diaphragm is trashed, but it does run on prime.

Just got to do it. ;)

Bought it for $5 not running while picking up another saw. Just so I could see if it really was 36cc.
Measured bore stroke and darn if it isnt 36cc. Type 1 - 5 36cc later ones 42cc. This one 2.

Found fuel filter laying in tank and prob clogged carb.

This is an actual 2023 pickup that I'm just now posting....and it's another not a saw posting by me but it could be used to haul me around carrying a saw if needed.

It was posted locally for FREE with it "not being started and deck needing to be welded or replaced, comes with new blades and one new tire".... so I didn't need it, want it, or cared to have another project at the time but I called just to see how fast it went. Posted for 12 minutes and I was I guess the first caller. Had a full tank of fresh gas, great battery, and didn't take much to get going. The deck was cracked and bent under and was not put back on correctly so it was lopsided and just wrong. The hood is useless but a new top piece will cost 100 bucks. Kawasaki 17.5 hp mower runs perfect, no noises in the hydro, and cuts well. Its a mid 90's mower but it really is a nice machine....steering is super nice compared to the cheaper mower brands. It was filthy when I got it and I've used it a whole tank to sweep my yard and my dad's property.

Bought a 193T off a guy yesterday (for a good price), and he gave me this 170 for free because the pull starter was broken. $25 at the local Stihl dealer for a spring, pawl, washer and clip, 10 minutes of work while the baby napped, and she started up second pull. The handle's got a nice split in it, but still works fine. Not sure if I'll bother with a new handle, and not sure if I'll keep it or sell it.

Either way, can't complain for $25
