066 wont start

Do the gaskets go on the carb side or the cover side?

Keep on it ... did you adjust the inlet lever ?

Se the low at 1/4 out, and high at 3/4 out. Im not sure where to put the idle.

Put them both at 1 out and see. The idle gets set where it dont stall and the chain dont spin while you are off the trigger and saw idling.

Well leave them on the limiters. Did you blow high pressure compressed air though the carbs that can ruin check valves?

It wont. I have to hold it WFO for it to run at all.

Ok, well it will consistently start and run now. I notice when i run it, it will like jerk itself, almost out of my hands, then it will rev up and sound like a real saw, then after a while it comes back down and sounds bad.

Do you have a bar and chain on it ? That could be a problem .. running without load .....

I would like to see a video of it idling and then full throttle. Can you post one up?

Take off limiters , remove screws , insert carb cleaner straw and spray .. reassemble and try again ....

OEM is the only way. If you don't feel like pressure testing take a shot at the new carb but if that don't help you need a vac tester.

Try turning in the idle speed screw a few turns and see if you can back it off until it'll idle. If a saw is being a bear to keep running I'll turn the idle screw in until the saw stays running, then I'll just back it off and adjust the L screw as needed until either the saw is idling or it kills itself. If it kills itself I'd start investigating other issues. If you can, try pressure testing your carb. It should hold a certain amount of psi indefinitely, if it doesn't you need to find where it's leaking from. I'd strongly recommend getting a Mityvac 8500 or something similar. Mine has saved me a lot of money and headaches since I got it.

Plenty of carbs on EBAY .. I have had good luck with the cheap ones .. $ 20. Bucks usually ..... Beats $60 - 80 for brand name Walbro .....
