Were there ever any green 2 man chainsaws?

And anybody have a shot of the oiler on the Mac 5-49. Seen a small pic and it almost looks like a oil can.

Here you go.

Any chance the 7-55 would have a over flow?

Thats the only thing I can figure out, that would cause it to leak, and leak, and leak some more.

But it did fire up the other night! Scared me a little. haha

I got this Mall 2MG couple days ago and a parts saw on the way. I can't wait to get it going, should be a fun GTG saw.

Nice looking saw.
Is it overly heavy enough to justify the helper handle? Or just kind of off balance?

I have a 12MG stashed away waiting for some time and $. Mostly bearings. haha

I think it could be run both with and without I have seen pics both ways. I can't wait to try it out.

According to the pic on Acres site, it is missing some kind of support for the helpers handle that runs above the bar. I'll be hunting for.

Yea, I think the missing piece may be a dummy bar :) to keep from up cutting and slinging the bar/chain up into your face.

There is a picture of 2 Malls that belong to IGPOE.

And a couple of 2 man videos and pictures.
Malls, Mercurys, Poulans... Husky :)

I'm thinking their purpose is to help prevent a dangerous pinch in the kerf.
These big gear-drives will bowl a fella over very quickly and perhaps carve his "cards" away. But all AS members are smart enough to have a wedge in their pockets for when they get far enough into a log to need one. When we're just cutting cookies we have the end of the log elevated so we get no pinches.

Does anyone know if i can cross a condensor to work on a mall model 6? Will one from a mercury engine with the Bendix ignigion work in the bendix on the Mall? When my Mall 6 heats up, it dies and i suspect the condensor is the culprit. (Dosent go lean when this happens)

As Cliff posted it is referred to as a guard there. It is referred to as a kerf bar elsewhere. To be honest the difference is like splitting hairs. The piece serves both purposes. If the chain would throw it will slow or stop it before it hits the guy/gal on the helper handle end. It also serves to prevent some pinching that would be very harmful to both guys/gals.

I agree with all of this as it makes good sense. But I may be one of very few who has actually had a chain break on a Mall 2-man and y'all need to trust me.....................at WOT the chain is not moving fast enough to be slung into anybody. When mine broke, it stopped in a flash and never jumped from the sprocket more than a couple inches. Maybe someone else has had a different experience.

i would agree with igpoe on this . these saws aint running at 13000 rpm like todays saws. i just dont see em slinging this heavy arse chain far. kerf bar i can see real easy

Mall Model Decal?

I have seen a seller on ebay (cheapchainsawparts) selling decals for Malls. However, I have not been able to find any for my Model 11. I just finished repainting mine and would like to add the finishing touches. I will post some pics when it is assembled this weekdend.

Anyone have any ideas or leads where I could get a set of decals??? Thanks
