Dont get me wrong, they were tough turning the first couple times, but by halfway in it just got harder to the point where if i kept turning i would snap a corner off, and thats pretty damn tight. Not really sure what A/M setup this is, just clicked and ordered. Either way while im out i'll hit the nearest lowes to see if i can find 2 sets of hex bolts if i gotta. I'd feel better if they didnt feel as though they were cross threading. I have no problem fixing threads or even helicoiling/timeserting but thats not something i do unless its a last resort and i wanna play with these today! Lol

not worth it , when ,y bro and i went saw shopping 5 years ago he bought a 290 and i went for the 390 it was on sale - it weighs more and only slightly more power - i got rid of it and just use my husky 61 :chainsaw:

Not sure what would weigh more as the only difference is a larger piston which would certainly be offset by the larger cylinder bore and the decomp button on some models. If you couldn't notice the difference in power, it wasn't running right.

I used the original bolts, grunted them through and although tight, they worked perfect. Letting the motoseal set 24 before i snug them tight so i guess i do some putting stuff back on while doing so

Holy sh1t this thing rips!! The torque is incredible then previous 290 top! Tap the trigger and it wants to jump out of my hands!! I love it!! Now whos got an 044/046 carb for me for barter??

Money tights till i get the next 100 chainsaws fixed.

I was banned for life from ebay, my ex gf was selling fake Uggs years ago, buyin them from china and making 150 a pair off them so they hit ME with trademark infringement!! Not even my fault, didnt know what she was doin! They dont even make Uggs in size 15W!!

Why do i get screwed?!?! Then she opens her own account and does the same thing and never had a problem. Buuuummmer!!!

How much they run? Im about to hit a local shop for a listing of parts so let me check with them first. I volunteer for em so they may just give it to me free. But if not, what price am i lookin at?

$16.50 shipped.
I believe the only difference is jet size and TerrySyd posted how to drill it out somewhere on the site. I can find it if you want. I'm interested to see how much of a difference that makes.

Its the only mod i havent done to the 290/390. Except for the Piltz 6foot bar. The mailman had trouble fitting it in the mailbox so now i have to go down to the PO and truck it home lol

Yeah that piltz set up won't work after the 390 conversion . It only works on the stock 290!![emoji23]

i forgot you even mentioned the carb at that price. Is it a Walbro? Or A/M that does just fine? Here i been searchin here and there but haven't pulled the trigger yet because i got other saws im messin with for other people, couple of complete rebuilds and case swap-outs. When i get to the carb you'll have to PM me with an address for money order unless you take visa. I haven't used my paypal in years, not even sure if its still valid or not, i know the card is long expired..

Oh, and i don't see a need for a decomp valve on the A/M 390 head. Starts just fine without it. I'll be plugging them from here on out..

Just not like whoever "plugged" this Husq 455 Rancher decomp, i got it runnin again but a 1" bolt and JB-Weld doesn't work as a decomp plug replacement lol
