The difference is if you cut wood all day most days the newer style saws are
Better on fuel
Better filter system
Better AV
Better torque
Better tune control system always tuned what ever the environment
Better EPA
Better easy start system
Less maintenance
More efficient
Modd very well
Must i go on
:msp_biggrin:

In stock for they may not be as fast but overall they win hands down as a all round package, job done.

Not quite accurate. The 372 is a pound lighter than a 576 and has similar fuel mileage. Filters are basically the same. AV is pretty close, I can't really tell a difference. Could careless about the EPA. Maintenance and starting is the same.

As for the 460, it isn't as smooth or as good on fuel, I'll admit that. Not a major difference though. But it has more power for the weight. Isn't that what technology is all about? Lighter, yet faster.

I'm not knocking the Auto tune saws, but the hype might be a little inflated IMO. I do see it as the way to go, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one if I felt that was the best saw.

Now we have conflicting info, because Mdavlee's video's show the 576at losing to an 046. Yet it beat the 441cm when those other guys tested them? Correct?

Brad came town this evening and we ran the 441, 7900 and Brad's dad's stock 046 with DP muffler. I did tune my 7900 and it seem to help some.

Here are the times. Take into consideration not every cut is made simply for the fastest time, light load, medium and heavy.

441.
12.23
13.02
13.89

046.
11.34
14.04
One cut was lost because I cut out.

7900.
10.93
11.05
11.78
12.17

Now for the video.

Here's the post. The 046 had one cut time that was faster. The 576 came out a couple hundreths faster in the last shoot out.

I don't think it's broke in all the way yet. Putting the modded muffler on it helped a little. :msp_wink::potstir:

Yeah my deflectors are back ordered so I can't mod the new shiny muffler. I just put the one andre did on there.

I don't know why they put the gray on the 576 and 346. It wears off much faster than the orange does.

I wish they still put the wide clutch cover on the 576 like the 575 first came with. I guess a full wrap handle would protect the gray paint a little more.

That that looks pretty impressive, much better sounding and better rpm's in the cut.:msp_thumbup:

It's amazing what removing a little aluminum in certain places does. The muffler mod helps the sound out too. I wanted to mod the nicer muffler since it was hollow to start with but I don't have any deflectors left. The autotune will compensate for porting. It needs to go visit with a 441 and see who's on top.

The numbers are pretty tame compared to some so it could be pushed a little more. It seemed to like the exhaust being raised a little. It didn't lose any torque so it could probably go a touch more if I did some machining to the base to tighten the squish up a little.

Are you saying it's ported now? I sold my 441 to Officer's Match. He's a stand up trustable guy if you wanted to send it to him for a comparison. I've heard rumors of a GTG up his direction in the spring.

Yeah I got it done yesterday. I just had to see if the autotune would compensate. I think it actually tunes better by plug color now then stock. I would like to see it compared to his or a sawzilla. The only saw I've got to compare it to here right now is the 555.

Way to go. No respect for a new saw:clap: That's how I like it!
