Cool.

I can't believe it's spinning that much with just a muffler mod. I'd still like to try a baffle someday. But for now, porting is on the way and enlarging the stock muffler port some. I want to keep that muffler stock looking.

Thanks for the help fellas.

I did set this saw up with the high top air filter like the 372XP. That might help the saw pull in a little more air.

Good info bro!

I'm also missing the air injection piece next to the flywheel. I don't know how much of a diff that makes.

Instafan of closed ports

Yeah, that injection piece was crushed by the flywheel as was the wire that killed the motor:confused:

I'm a big fan of closed port designs now. The Kita knicked it by 3/10, maybe 4/10. So I'm going to guess the Husq will be in the low 3's. It's time to order a

Cold cuts to hot cuts. Both running fairly rich. 18" LGX not sharpened, but still looked good and felt good in the cut. Got carried away with the six fo, it just sounded cool:greenchainsaw:

It just dawned on me that I also installed a new Walbro carb, the same one that fits a 372XP.

That along with the 372 filter set up and dual port muffler is likely why it's 4 stroking at 14200.

It seems to cut just as well and the 372 now, and I go to it more because I like that 2 port muffler sound. Not too loud, just a deep throated growl.

Course if I blow it up, that will give me an excuse to install a BB Kit.

The low top mesh filter flows more air than the HD setup I believe.

I think I have read that somewhere on AS. hard for me to get my head around that though because the big filter has a greater surface area. But there is plenty I don't understand.

That's why I depend on all of you guys so much.

I am thinking, you are the guy that said that stock Stihl saws need to come with a factory installed diaper so the when they see a Dolmar you would not have a mess on you hands. :hmm3grin2orange:

I laugh about that every time I think about it.

Am I right, did you post that one time?

Good info guys.

I'm breaking the saw down this weekend ala Dr. FrankenHusq!

I'll post when I get something done.

The MEX PORT coming your way

Simple jig using downcut spiral bit.

Wont tip over to ruin milling or go beyond the ears of the jug.

Be back with some more photos.

I think I milled too much off. I forgot about the ring! Oh well, it's my practice jug.

Alstar, what do you think?

I have to work the right side a bit. And I slipped on the last plunge:cry: Sand paper will take care of that, though:cheers:

You beat me to it. I just checked and they don't go that low. I forgot, they go just below the transfers. Ooops.

This one will have the finger porting. The piston will be blocking this area anyway, so there will be a pocket of charge to start off the finger ports. The other jug will only go as far as the decking. That will be the traditional woods ported jug if indeed it is the aluminum from the piston that damaged it.

I'm not worried about it cracking. There's plenty of meat. These jugs are thick. I'm going to sand the edges smooth.

Now it's time for some hand porting to finish it off. Looking forward to the hand porting from here on out:clap:

Next is to find a rubber abrasive to see if the scoring is indeed from the aluminum from the piston. Not bad for $20 bucks so far.

Anyone run a gasketless 365?

I'd like to lower the squish to .023, but I'm wondering if the ears, where the skirts ride, would hit once the jug is bolted down? I'm away from my studio, so I can't check. I was just wondering about it. It's buzzing in my mind right now. If it does hit, then I'm going to have to mill it down a bit.
