I don't know if you should run your finger ports into your intake like that. Seems like on the down stroke that it blow a lot of the charge back out the intake port.

Small pockets of charge leading the way towards the rear of the cylinder.

Tomorrow I'm going to clean up the aluminum scoring with some muriatic acid and then I should have it together for this Saturday's firewood hunt.

Warning! The show is boring.

Putting the saw through its paces. I did not deck for a tighter squish and I need to do a muffler mod. Otherwise, it felt good. I'm surprised that the saw ran at all with the scoring that it had. The muriatic acid did not work that well, so I sanded with 600 grit. Seemed to do alright.

Bro, let me just say that the chain met too many rocks:monkey:

The blowdown was at the edge of a wash. Nice Piñon Pine as the upper elevation gates are closed due to snow. So these are few and far between. The Kita met a nasty rock and didn't cut the same. I didn't have a fop that would have edged it back to true. So I couldn't use it. So the Husq was a solo job today. And did alright with a beat up chain. The top plates were not as bad as the Kita's chain, but dang was it hard to edge back to true:dizzy:

A good stash however as my firewood has dwindled to just about a weeks worth. So this was a good find.

You're soooo lucky to have that blue sky! It's been overcast here since December. . . I need some damn sunshine!!

Good video vato!

Blue skies for days Nate.

The best part was the late afternoon sun hanging out by the main wash hearing the sounds of the small river coming from melting snow . It was truly one of those Golden Days under the Southern California sun:cheers:

I have worse problems than I thought.

I can't get the chain to stop turning at idle unless I fatten it up, but by then it doesn't run good. I think I know why the previous owner fattened it up the way he did.

Changing the clutch is next on the list.

While I'm waiting for the clutch, I'm going to mod the muffler.

I'm just going to enlarge the existing hole to try and keep it stock looking minus the welds to stitch the exhaust deflector back into place.

Hey CHEVY,
Dude, you are making me so Jealous...yer out there cutting firewood!

We still have about a foot of snow at the Bounty Hunter ranch...the wood trailer and the splitter are stuck there. As you stated the higher elevations are off-limits...way too much snow.

I have been going over all our saws though...giving all of them factory big dawgs, new bars if they need it, new sprockets...even painting the mufflers with high heat paint after the mod jobs!

Your Husq sounds great! Nice work Brother! :chainsaw:

Too bad the Kita rocked out...I have been known to rock a few chains myself...that's why we carry 3 extra chains for each saw when we head out!

Great Thread,
Keep em' coming Brother and Saw Safe

Hey Bounty!

That's down by the big wash near the 33 off of lockwood valley. People have been going in there for blowdowns. You weren't kidding. It was a blessing up in the higher elevations. Looking for blowdowns is tough work.

The porting worked out great, but the extra air/charge messed everything up as far as tuning. I can't get the chain to stop on idle. Before the porting, it wasn't too bad. It moved, but not as much as now. In order to stop the chain, I have to load up on the L. So, I just let the chain run a bit. It runs and sounds good, but not like it should.

I ordered the clutch yesterday, so it should arrive this week. Looking forward to slapping it on.

And rocking chains is a drag fo show...

:agree2:

That makes the 365 look paralyzed...

I see you're still hurting traditional fool

I wood hope so having more cc's, more compression and a muff mod plus possibly a square chisel chain:buttkick:

Finished product.

Gracias Brad. Hopefully it is just enough. The welds will give it away, but as long as it has a spark arrestor and there are no campers around, I'll be safe from them saying adios.

There is a formula kicked around some as far as how much area you can do.

I figured since I've seen many Husq's with dual pipes, I was in the safe zone.

Cheech,

You need a little more heat on those welds. . . See how they aren't fused on the toes and all humped up? I know you were worried about burn-through, but that's the beauty of trigger-welding. . . Go in hot, and let her cool a little, then go in again.

Bet that thing's gonna be loud!!
