Chainsaw rebuild problem?

Here is a clone of a 460 with 3/4 wrap. Running VPracing oil 40:1

There is no sign of heat damage to the underside of the piston nor the crank on this one. Only on the exhaust side of the piston is all scratched from rubbing against the cylinder wall.
Unfortunately we may never know if this thing would run again as my friend has now decided to just invest in a new saw rather than repair the old one

First off, there is no way you'll be able to find, much less buy, actual parts for this thing. So, you buy a $15, 44mm piston. How do you know it will actually fit? Just matching diameter won't cut it.
Chuck it. Buy a real saw.

There are plenty of cheap 44mm kits for 52cc engines out there that are plug and play. This one hilariously states "made of metal"

Never bought a clone in my life. The Raider chainsaws are good quality I used one to cut up 10m3 of firewood last year and it didn't miss a beat

That Raider looks like a typical Chinese made copy of a Zenoah G4500. They are all over ebay and Amazon around here and sold with various names, colors and sizes ranging from 45-68cc. The stated size is usually not the actual size of the engine and quality ranges from decent to horrible POS. I got one this winter to play with, and so far it has been pretty darn good. Not something I would want to depend on as my only saw, but good enough to cut firewood and cheap to modify and experiment with. If you do not have the tools, skills and inclination to work on chainsaws I would not recommend them, it will cost more to pay someone to fix it than it would to buy another new one.
Chinese quality control and product support is non-existent. Some people get lucky, get one that works and they are happy. Some don't.

I forget the brand, I will post some pictures when I get it. The guy has a repair shop and uses these parts so there's a good chance they are reasonable quality knock offs. Should be a straight fit
It wasn't straight gassed I mixed the fuel myself 50:1. Burnt out after about 30 minutes cutting through some lumps of hard wood. Wasn't aware it was a fake stihl or I would have adjusted the carb so it didn't rev so high and not worked it so hard

Raider aren't a fake copy company, all of their products are red just like all Dewalt stuff is yellow. My friend in Bulgaria is a professional carpenter and he only buys raider tools for his workshop because of their quality and reliability. You can buy 3 raider batteries for the price of a makita one for their power tool range so why spend more kind of thing.
