Dont tempt me Mange, I'll walk across water to get yours and bring it home for myself.
just kidding, but I AM wanting one of these for myself.

Put on the big shoes and a rain coat, and a thermos coffee. Let me know when you see Denmark and I meet up with you. :p ;)

This change in distribution is a PITA. I'm sure things will be better in the long run, but I am having a booth all week at the local fair, and the timing sucks. I can't even get ahold of anyone to get brochures. My normal distributor is out and won't be getting more. Can't do anything but leave a message or email with Dolmar USA, and evidently they are not fond of quick responses. The new distributors are pretty much clueless about what is going on. My normal distributor says once they are out of stock of saws, they are not reordering. HELP! I need product and I need literature. Best of all, the only reason I knew about the change was from this thread. Seems that dealers ought to be informed about such things!

How much will you give me on a trade in of a practically new Makita DCS520i. I have only used two tanks of mix in it. :)

Why would you do this? I have one and have been so friggin happy with it I can barely stand it.

I'll gladly take it off yer hands!

The only way to make it better is to switch it out with the 54.

Okay...chill out...I agree. I was just making conversation...I wasn't really serious. So far I like mine too. Best saw I have ever had or even used. You can't have mine. :)

I think I knew about 5 or 6 months ago about Dolmar coming to Canada threw Power Source cause they said it right at their dealership meeting, they didnot say what was happening in the states but you could see things were going to change plus with Makita dropping the bigger saws you knew something was up forsure, I know for around here it was a good move because Dolmar didnot have any saws here , just the saws I sold but my dealer that I get my 3120's from is carrying 7900's now

I've got to agree with TonyM. As a dealer, I've been completely left out with Dolmar. No contact whatsoever about any new distributor. I've got saws out there that I don't know whether I can support them or not. I've a rack full of saws, and I'm not even sure I'm still a dealer.

L.W. Meyer is done as a saw distributor starting in August. With the problems they were having with Windsor, they won't even be handling them any more, at least from the conversations I had with them.

Mack, get on www.dolmarusa.com. There is a dealer survey on there that I completed. It is my understanding that Dolmarusa did not have any complete list of their own dealers, as the distributors were not willing to share that information, probably for fear of competing distributors. I filled out the survey in hopes to get on their list as a dealer. As a small dealer, I'm worried that the new distributors will not want to do business with me anymore. I hope that is not the case, as I've been doing everything I can to sell their saws, and my sales have been steadily growing. I'm getting some repeat business now, and this fall business is going to go nuts I think.

boy that doesnot sound very good , no wonder there arenot many Dolmar dealer out there , even they donot know who is a dealer , that scares me

Nice boxer Elmore. Typical boxer w/ personality.

If it ain't a boxer, it's just a dog.

Yeah...he was a good one...the best. I could use his assistance now. When I would cut trees in the yard he would pull limbs out of the woods to the burn pile. Big limbs too. Now that I have a good saw I could use some help in cleaning it up. He was a good groundsman...worked cheap and was always eager to give ya sugar.

TonyM, I imagine Dolmar is going to jump on those dealer survey reports pretty quickly; I just cant imagine the nationwide distributor having no control over such an important item as dealer lists...How did they handle customer requests for service?

I used to work for an OPE distributorship; one of the things I remember was that the Mfgrs were adamant about knowing where all their product was being sold/leased. Another was the fact that all of the distributors knew very well where their territories were, and were not; the sales guys knew quite well where every unit in a particular shop came from. Dolmar must have recently been a real "operation" LOL. NO wonder the Dolmar guy nearest me won't stock them, and tries to put something else in my hands every time I stop by.

I hope they get it together.

TonyM, I did the "dealer survey" a while back. Haven't heard a peep from them. The only Dolmar contact I have had is with Dolmar_Tech_Mgr. The two other dealers I know, are in the same boat.
I just went from overnight service on saws and parts, with the distributor I had , to no service at all. I know the feeling as a small dealer. In the past couple of years I've had two major mfg's tell me I was to small to bother with, (I thought I was doing OK with $300k in sales).

new england dolmar dealers.. mack, your former dolmar dist will be servicing you with blue and grey instead of orange and black you should have no parts or support issues. Atlantic Power will be the new Dolmar dist. for new england and new york. they are the current briggs central if you do any briggs parts now

Dolmar's plans are to grow and small dealers will get the opportunity to grow too. We are seeking dealers nationwide and of course experience is key when it comes to selling. So Dolmar experience is always a good thing. In the past Dolmar Wholesalers guarded their dealer list as they expressed fear that Makita would take those dealers on the list from them. Because of this we were never able to add a dealer list to our website, the new Dolmar USA website will be launching end of July or early August and a Dealer locator is going to come shortly there after as our new distribution will gladly promote their dealer network with us. Dont fear the future with Dolmar, Be Here and Relish the re-birth of Dolmar in the USA. See us in Louisville for our products, new and current as well as an apperance of the DOLMETTE. The Dolmette is pictured in my avatar and can been seen at dolmette.com.

What happened to that Dolmar/Solo partnership that was going to improve dealer coverage? Did that not go through?
