Nothing - except that the specs of the 420 places it in no-man land, but a close to pro-quality "homeowner" saw - the old 242xp has .6 more hp for the same cc and weight + 2k more max rpm.

I gotta weigh-in with you guys as well...10.6 lbs. for a saw that does not make 3 hp? Thankyee, I'll stay up in the 50 cc class myself. I'll gladly carry .7 lbs. for...25% more power!! So yeah...on a power-to-weight basis, the 420 answers a question nobody was asking.
On the other hand, I dropped a lot more coin on mine, so as a price point, this saw has something going for it. On a quality-to-dollar or power-to-dollar comparison...it sounds like a good bet. (First fix the ergonomics, so that the handlebar doesn't look and feel like it went under a skidder though...)
Since we already have one saw on this board that cures cancer, how 'bout if we say this one cures something...I don't know...something less expensive than cancer? How 'bout....mmmm...I got it!!! How 'bout gum disease??

I thought that one was discontinued - some reports here indicate it doesn't have the same quality as the Oregon and Hudky NK bars (not always the same).

Well for an emissions compliant saw it is impressive! It runs like most 50cc saws do it starts like an Echo and best yet so far no problems! other than the complaints about weight which come from not actual use but paper specs!

My paper specs from Dolmar say the PS 350 is 9.0lbs and has the PS 420 at 9.7lbs PHO.
But that's way different from what's on the Web. If that's the case, then this arguement was pretty much in vain. If I recall, my Redmax weighs 9# 2oz or 9# 3oz actual weight, empty powerhead.

Nope, they fixed the weights on the web (after I complained here on AS about it).
Dolmar PS420 & PS350 both listed as having: Net weight 4.8 kg (10.56 lbs)
So, was that an editorial mistake or did they know from the get go the saw was too heavy? I'm just so full of SawTrollish comments today I can't believe myself

Yah, that's the larger size bar. The 1123 saws take the smaller .325 bar with fewer links in the chain...

Same weight as the basic MS260 and the original 346xp - a tad more than the 242xp......
Another thing is that the maths have gone astray again on the US web-site, regarding kW vs. hp/bhp - as it did with the 5100S (has been corrected some, but still off).......
The kW numbers have been proven true in independent testing, but surely not the bhp ones. :censored: :jester:

Good to hear Javeline.
I noticed that the intake on the 510's jug is "hot" from the factory except where the bottom meets the skirt(and I know that's where porting for Uranium is at for you guys) because if you port the tube of the intake, you can hit water quick you know what I mean. I see BIG potential from this little dude...AND DOLMAR ENGINES SEEM TO GIVE A LOT OF TORQUE FROM THE GET GO...rolling off the line with balls.

They always had the KG weight right, just their math was wrong in marketing the saw for the StihlBillies in pounds and ounces.

Yep, that's mostly what we have around these parts.....Hillbillies that aint gotta pot to piss in (or teeth for that matter) but they got 'em a Stihl FarmBoss 290 and they think they've got the world by the balls, cuz they own something that says Stihl on it.....lol :greenchainsaw:
