Its not in your signature, but I read a post where you said you have a Axe or hatchet you use to make kindling with I would like to see or try?

Shipper

Yeah, I remember that post from a while back. The little Fiskars mini-maul thingee. I'll bring it. Last time I brought some splitting tools with me that folks played with (15lb I&O MegaMaul was popular with the teenagers), so I'll bring the Fiskars mini-maul and my new Coronna ax, too.

computeruser

eric, the main reason I am not coming is so that computeruser doesn't have to go through the humiliation of getting spanked by my 242.

Mark

Brandon can take it

Bring the wife.. Tell her we have a job for her.. she can stir the soup.. Now that won't get me any points with her..
I am sorry to hear that you can not make it.
I think Amicks is sending up a free saw to whomever tells their wife where he really wants to go. LOL JK

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait for the next go-around to get my 238 shown up by the 242. Sorry you can't make it. I guess we'll just have to do it again at some point in the future!!

Hey Eric, what time do you plan to start this shindig and how long before you get the stick and run us all off??? Just trying to get things straight with the misses. She says we gotta take the munchkin to the zoo for halloween saturday evening but I think I can get her to do it Friday night instead. Just wanting to know cause if things are gonna break up early Saturday anyway then I'll just let her think she got her way. ;) Gotta pick your battles ya know. :D

Oh gonna need some better directions to I know your south of Cope but that’s about it. I’ve looked it up on the map so I’ve got a pretty good idea of the area so fire away with the lefts and rights. By the way if I gotta turn left at the rooster on the fence make sure the rooster is there. Had that happen once already, something/one had killed the rooster that morning and I dove 5 miles past my turn. (true story)

:monkey: Or if you have a GPS just give me the numbers, that would work to.

Looking forward to meeting you fellas and slinging some chips. :chainsawguy: :hmm3grin2orange:

I think that google maps will convert the address to GPS coords. Or maybe it was Google Earth. I don't remember which, but I had them last time I went down there, and they may still be on my GPS. Heck, I may have even posted them along with a satellite photo of the property in the earlier thread about the last GTG at Eric's.

Plan to start around nine.

As for when it will end.. Makes me no nevermind. When everyone feels like their fun meter is overloaded.
. Late afternoon, early evening, sometime before dark?

Hey bring a stop watch

I have a sundial for measuring my old crapsman. But for those of you with faster saws a stopwatch might come in handy. LOL

Been there done that at a racing type gtg with my stock poulans 3750,330,305,220 in tow. Boy did I get my eyes opened that day.

Is anyone in the north central part of Ohio going that might want to go and split the fuel bill, if I decide to go? I am showing just over 4 hours away from this gtg.

Can take the old jimmy 20mpg, so saws can be secure too, but might smell a tad. Compared to my open truck bed and 8-10mpg.

I think it shows a little over 3.5 hrs from here.Lawdy I have to my get act together,I have some old saws I haven't even started for a year and a water pump to put in the Caddy .I'm on vacation next week ,a good thing.

I'll most likely bring about a dozen or so saws, the oldest being 1959 the newest,1990.

Al, do you live near Lima? Also are you driving your small truck you drove to Ohio gtg up north? Here is a map from my place to Lima.
PM me if you are interested.

I was hoping to make it to this one. Unfortunately, I had to make reservations to spend the next two weeks in Orlando for work, starting Monday. I won't be home until Nov. 1. I hate to miss this. I'd enjoy a working GTG. I saw all the funyou had last year and thought I'd get to make this one.

Any needing my address PM me

I do not really want to post my address here. So just pm me. and I will gladly give you my addy.

Yes as a matter of fact, about 6 miles from I-75.Hmm,I worked a two week shut down once at Timkin in Galion.I'll fire you off an e-mail in the AM.Hmm,come to think of it,this is the AM.

Well I found out yesterday I'll be working on the 27th.

Have a good time guys and take ample pics for the rest of us.

Sure would like to meet a few of you guys!

What wood type and sizes do you have to cut cookies on for making timed cuts for work chains?
That way if I come on the trip, I know what bars and chains I will need and if I travel with Al, space could become a premium between all our saws.

some different woods

I have some maple, ash, But mostly for timed cuts will be shag bark hickory.. It is sort of powder post beetle ate up so it will not be as hard as January's slick bark hickory was.
guessing 10-12 inch diameter
Should be great weather.Highs in the 50s low 60s and no chance of rain. Getting rain today. but it should be dried up well enough by then. Plus it is just off the road for easy access for parking.
