if you were able to blow the top out..........what was the point of speed lineing ? it didn't look like there was anything to avoid.

Yea, and why are you using such an underpowered saw for the diameter of the wood you're cutting through?

 We're just givin you a hard time

I enjoy a good speedlining when it's called for, but in that poplar, I'd a dropped all the limbs and tops as near the base as possible and backed the chipper right into it, come down help the brush monkey, and then topple the post.

I must agree, you DID do that zipline with style.

Did I note self-propellability on that chipper? Is it on tracks, or am I hallucinating?

OK, for those of you who cant read...
The poplar was leaning backwards towards a 400,000kv tower line ( look carefully and you can see the 4 primary's). of the two stems, the rearmost went out about 30' over the Shropshire Union Canal. The rearmost stem was zipped off the top into the site, and then used to pull the leaning top back into the site. For those of you with particularly bad eyesight (especially when it comes to recognizing chippers) The chipper on site was an 8" capacity tracked jensen, as we only had a 36" entryway to get in round the substation.

This is how i left it. This is one of my nicer pruning jobs :D

????. says i have no more room left for uploads. bloody cheapskate software.
