hello everyone, I have a homelite 410 that runs great but has a bad fuel leak when I turn it on its side I'm sure it's probably the fuel line, I did have the handle assembly off when I replaced the intake boot, I replaced the impulse line and the oil line from the manual pump but I didn't replace the fuel line because it looked and felt to be in good shape and I also had no idea how to install a new line on one of these, so if anyone knows how to replace the fuel on these it would be much appreciated, and if anyone knows an easy way to get the carb box cover on and off that would also be appreciated.

I did one awhile ago. Miserable saw to work on. I think the fuel line was just a friction fit in the tank. Pull the old one out, pull the new one in. Cut a long taper on the end before you try to shove it thru and use hemostats to grab the line in the tank. Pull enough in to get it out the fill hole. Cut it off square and install a filter. I can’t remember the size, but fairly sure was just standard fuel line.

thanks, I put a new line in it, it was a little troublesome but eventually I got it in. unfortunately it still leaks but not as much, I'll have to pull the carb again and figure out what's going on, I might have to put a carb kit in it or seal the gaskets. and you're right it's a miserable saw to work on but when it runs and cuts it's hard to beat for a reed saw.

I love the 410. its the best saw HOMELITE made and really cuts. the low and side fill tanks always leak around the cap when sitting. only Stihl figured how to not have side caps not leak. also the vibe isolators get soft and allow the movement to break the carb boot. fortunately they are repoping them though I haven't tried them. They should have just made it a solid saw. You have to use black rubber fuel line. the yellow vynal wont plug the gap into the tank.

If the tank leaks it could be from the tank vent. This model has the vent directly on the tank.
