I need to come up with a starter cup #56441 in the next couple three weeks for one.

I looked at Chainsawr.

I have a cup off a C5, but it's stamped 14-369. Anyone know if this will interchange? It's chewed up, but was working when I took the saw apart.

I guess I should get some C series IPLs if anyone can point me to them, or email them to me. I think my email is viewable in my profile.

Go to Model Profile: C-5 Click on the IPL link at the bottom of the stats. It will open with Acrobat reader. Acrobat toolbar will appear when your curser if hovering near the bottom of the page and save it.

The difference in some of the cups is at the back surface, some have 3 cutouts for your flywheel puller holes which are raised a bit. If the cup doesn't have the cutouts you can dremel them out. Also the front to back length of the cups varies a bit but can be overcome by shimming the starter outward with small washers.

Good to know. Looks a lot like the old lawnmowers I repaired as a youth.

A. Palmer has me covered. Thanks fellas.

I havn't messed with one of those 'slippy clutches' in forty plus years. They date back to the first recoil starters used on lawnmowers. Before them, you wound a length of mom's clothesline around the pulley with a chunk of broomstick for a handle.

I have several 55987 - condenser and 58165 - points for the C-series. I'm not certain what you mean by pot metal bracket. Need a part number.

This whole bracket that holds the points/coil/condenser pictured here that I broke the tab off of

Jake, I sent that assembly off my parts saw to ChainsawmanXX. I'm not sure what he needed off it, but it might be worth sending him a PM if it gets ya the housing at least. The last I heard, he was working out on the road, so it might be a while before you hear back.
