Is it just my poor search method or is there no XL-12 or SXL NOS cylinders on evilbay???

Not that I'd be able to justify the cost anyway.

I'm a more Amber Bock and cigarettes fellow. Raised within smelling distance of the the A.B. brewery in S. St. Louis.

I typed in Homelite chainsaw parts and on the first page was a SXL for parts chainsaw. I didn't read the ad but just noticed it was there. That is probably better than buying a new cylinder if yours is bad.

1020 got here a couple of days ago. Been pretty under the weather. All I've done is get it out and snap a couple pics. It's the same one thomas1 had. Not sure the guy I bought it from every ran it. It's dry as a bone.

Never messed with this type of carb before.

The bar that came with it isn't an Oregon. The belly is bigger and this is the only mark on it.

Time for more Benadryl...

My XP1020 came to me with an accelerator pump type Tillotson HL like that. Has no idle spreed screw on the carb (and the boss isn't drilled for one). Idle is adjusted by that damn goofy air bypass thingee on the manifold (with a hose running down to the base of the jug). I have an HL242 (I think that's the #......it looks to be a larger bore HL) on an XP1020 parts saw (roached P/C) that I'll probably swap on instead. I'll either just close the idle adjustment crap on the manifold all the way off, or will do it right and swap on my non idle-adjustment intake manifold and cap off the nipple on the cylinder. Your bar looks to be an old General or Oregon RN.

I need to find a 54mm piston for a homelite 650. Wiesco said they can make 12 for $1500 or more, other than that I have no leads dont want to spend 1500 either. Anyone know of anywhere else to go or another type of piston that will work or another place that makes them?

so there are many on the bay... I don't know how to tell the other critical dimensions from this, and don't know what would work or not. now most of these are chinese, but some have good reviews. I have the same issue on a couple of engines and would love some intelligent insight.

Perhaps there is a way to dig up the dimensions on the listed engines they fit, and cross that to the one in hand... hmmm. might have to try that.

Yup, SXL and XL-12 parts saws out the Wah-Zoo but no NOS cylinders.

Parts saws I got, don't want no more.

Hey guys,
I just got a pretty clean Super XL925 but
it's missing the complete clutch assembly,
Including the drum. Need everything. If
anyone has a spare, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Lee

Lee there were a few different clutch designs (shoe counts and widths) used on those saws. Some used the same drums as the SXL-AO saws. Make sure you get parts that match each other.

I was checking ebay and saw parts for two types. One looked
like a 1050 spider while the other had 3 springs. Not sure what
i need, but whatever fits this saw. I believe it's a later model.
I will post some pic's tomorrow.

Will you get that project moving already!!!!

Will you get that project moving already!!!!

Other more pressing projects (and non-saw stuff like work and family) keep cutting in front of it. That's the first personal project that'll get attention..........after John's 750 and the Stumpbroke Raffle 10-10A and Randy's 790 are all done. Won't get much done tomorrow afternoon either. Go 49'ers!!!:D

I have a rough looking XL-800 here with a clutch and spur, it may work since they are in the same family.

330 oiler isuue

Working on a 330 that I tore apart and reassembled with new intake boot, fuel, impulse and oil lines. Starts and runs very well. With a muuf mod it really is a strong saw. Oiler has me baffled however, won't pump oil. Tore it apart and everything looks okay. Diaphragm has no holes but wonder if that's the problem. Anyone have any exp. with these oilers? Any one know the part # for oiler as I don't have an IPL.
Bob

Part# for oiler diaphragm, sorry.

I am in the process of cleaning up my 925 for re assembly and found the flywheel.....darn thing is missing 50% of the fins, looks like this one is going on the back burner until I can get to my parts store for a more complete one.

I haved that xl-800 with a flywheel that may work for you, I will get pictures posted tonight.

Got all set to try out the 1020 today. Went through my Mac bars and found several that are dual use for the Homelite. Only problem was it came with 3/8 rim sprocket... I'm out if all spare sprockets, so I guess I'm shopping tomorrow...

Pretty soon you'll be known as Prolite 1020. A little too qualified to be the Homelite shopmonkey, though...
