Homelit 650 piston

I need to find a 54mm piston for a homelite 650. Wiesco said they can make 12 for $1500 or more, other than that I have no leads dont want to spend 1500 either. Anyone know of anywhere else to go or another type of piston that will work or another place that makes them?

I'd think a machine shop could make one, but again it will be expensive. Best to keep looking around on the internet.

Does this happen to be a Super 77?

You have four that need pistons or just four saws?

Four with roached pistons. 3 of 4 are parts saws. One will get a good used P/C that I have.

I also have three runners....although one of those will give its P/C to one of the dead saws. That good running saw is corroded to hell, and will be a donor of many good parts.

Got two more 'almost runners' (with good P/C's) that only need minor fixes.

Sorry Zach. That's one of the smaller/earlier Wiz/SW variants. Wrong tank assembly to be a S-77.

I think we are talking about XL units as opposed to the big 650's.

Lee, you are definitely the man with four of them!!!!!!!!

Chris.

Chris is correct Lee. I was talking about my XL-12/SXL-AO/XLA/XL-15 saws. I'd forgotten to mention the XL-15 earlier. Four 650's eh? How many 750's do you have?

Another innocent looking victim of politics. Rise above, Randy. Release it to me and be free from the hate.

Electric Homelite with a clutch.

That's really cool. Better built than the usual consumer electric saws. I really like the bar stencil. Ever cut with it Cliff?

I forgot that I'm holding this hostage.

Yeah I had too Randy. Thanks for holding it and posting the pics again. Looks like I'll need to evict some mud daubers from the muffler...:D

I also have this.

An exchange will be coordinated at the bridge.

Man that bar is sweet. Thanks for bringing that south as well. It'll look good on my XL903 when I get to rebuilding it. 6.3 cubes of Yellow will be heading north for the exchange. That replacement oil tank has a crack BTW. Looks like somebody smacked the front of the saw HARD against something. Not sure if it holds or not. I'm going to stand it on end and put some thinned oil in it to sit for a while. We'll see if it wets the shop towel. I could probablty clean it REAL well on the inside and seal it with some JB Weld if needed. If it doesn't hold, I have a S-44 tank (no auto oiler) I could install instead.

Red meets Yellow on the Allenby bridge between the east and west bank of the Jordan?

Something like that Carl. I rank Homelite as the top 'old' saw manufacturer, with McCulloch being #2. Randy (on the other side of the bridge) has the order reversed in his noggin. We meet in the middle.........................sort of. There's a universal language between the two camps that mostly involves brown liquor and cigars...:D
