Need some help.
990D runs, idles and goes full tilt. Chain is .404 and raker's are near .040-.045 and I can stall the chain pretty easily on a 36" bar, full comp semi-chisel. Its got a 8 pin rim, think it needs a 7 pin rim? Looked the clutch over, not much meat on the bone, but none of these had much for shoes, very thin shoes on all 4 saws I have or I'd replace the clutch.

What do you think is stalling the chain?

Still looking for a serviceable piston for a Homie 2000. Even a scored one would be an improvement over one with the ring land blown out.:msp_ohmy:

I'm afraid to even try to run it now.

I have a piston for a 1050 if anyone needs it. (not a 100% positive I.D. on it.)

In your pic the link on the chain is not seated on the bar. Is the master spun too tight or is there a tight spot on the bar?

Something in the transfer. I still have the cylinder, never really identified what caused it. It was too bad, as I did some horse-trading for that piston. Felt like a dope.

Here's a beauty, a nice western 550. This was in the trading post and I just had to have it. I like the far smaller profile of this thing compared to the 650/750.

I spun it to tight. Thinking I may break it and replace that link. I noticed it in the picture as well, can really see it on the bar without hunting for it.

I doubt if one ever came off the assembly line looking that nice. That belongs in the Dupont Registry of chainsaws.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a super xl-925 cylinder. I hope one off you may have something. I cannot seem to find one. What other jugs will fit? It used to be my Dad's saw and would tickle him to death to see it run again.

I don't think it's completely froze up but I haven't inspected.
