Here are a couple pics of my 1050 I use for milling and what I want to fab up for it.

Because the little grommet that goes around the trigger rod is gone it sucks a lot of fine dust into the carb box. I could just replace the grommet, but I would kind of like to put a bigger, higher quality, external filter on it, like a K&N.

CPR, told me that a Wiz had a 90 degree elbow that would bolt to the end of my carb. I checked the shed and I still have the old Zip 66 I got at the scrap yard. It too has a 90 and it looked like it would work perfect.

The bolt holes do match up perfect. But the 90 is a little too thick, so I had to grind it down a little to get it to fit behind the carb. Once I got it behind the carb I saw that the throat of the carb is a little bigger than the throat of the 90, and I could see daylight on the top and bottom. A gasket might cover the gap, but I'm going to look for another 90 that matches better. The other thing is I'll have to grind 2 notches in the top of my carb box to get the screws in, and I don't want to do that.

Here's a pic of the 923. Thanks, Joe.

speaking of grommets. anyone got any grommets, or a source, for the oiler on the C5? i've tried local hardware store and they do have grommets but the slot is too narrow and won't fit the wall thickness.

I have a loose C5 handle/carb. box. There is a felt biscuit on the pump end and nada (just a close fit) on the button end.

You want the felt thingy if it is any good? Providing there is a way to remove it.

Carl.

i've since studied the ipl and there doesn't appear to be a grommet. go figure. howsomever, i want a grommet on there. i'm thinking the grommets for the choke and the carb h and l screws would fit. anyone? thanks, jerry

Felt 'washer' or grommet isn't called out in the IPL.:confused2:

I can send you the whole sheee bang if you want him.

I know what Randy's looking for. Not sure I'll find one, but I've got my eyes open. Lemme know what you're looking for and if I run across it, I'll see what I can do about sending it your way. :msp_thumbsup: I have a feeling that spring and fall will be the best times for scrappin'. :D

I picked up another WD-60, a gold one. It wants to run but is getting too much fuel. I may swap the old metering needle spring back in since it was a little longer/stiffer than the new one in the kit. Need to look through the PP thread again to see if there is any carb info there. I remember something about some had different gasket/diaphragm order, and someone mentioned that in the thread I started. Still need to get the numbers off the carb.

I'll give you my 'hot list' in a bit.:D

My WD60 is a gold one too. Carb should be a Tillotson HC. That's an HL without the pump section. It's gravity fed. Takes the same DG-5HL and RK-88HL kits as most Tillotson HL's. You just don't use the pump diaphragm and gasket that's in the kit (since the HC has no pump section).

Homelite Buz and 500 'consumer/farmer' saws (in the same class as the WD60) aso used the HC carburetor.............so we have our Homelite content.:D

Your problem could be as simple as some crap holding the needle off of the seat. Gasket/diaphragm order (with the carb body upside-down) is gasket and then diaphragm (and then the steel cover).

My lil' buddy just brought me a cherry C-52. (Lil' Freddy is 12 goin' on 13 and has never had a father figure in his life.) I'm it for him. I let him help me with firewood cuttin' and fixing up my old saws and he eats it up. Anyways he wants me to get his C-52 going. Problem is I cant get the starter to engage. I'm unfamiliar with this type of starter. The weights and spring mechanisms are all free and move smoothly. It's like the "pawl" weights are not camming out to engage the smooth inner rim of the flywheel center. Any ideas of what is wrong?

I picked this saw up yesterday.

She was stuck pretty tight but some wd40 and a gentle persuasion I got it freed up, then I dumped a bunch of 2 stroke oil down the transfers and let it slosh around a bit, piston and rings look good.

I will pull it apart and clean it up along with a good inspection of all the parts.

Wow very nice find

Here's a head scratcher for more informed homelite owners. I have a super ez auto I am trying to get new gaskets for. I called up a place I found on ebay and told them I was looking for the cylinder, carb and reed valve gasket for my sez auto. She asked if I had the ut number and I gave it to here. The number is UT 10403A. She said she would make sure she had em and call me back. She called back a while later and said she could not find anything that matched that UT# in their books or with the distributer. She said she would check with another guy that works there and get back to me today or tomarrow. I gave her the serial # just in case it would be helpful. It got me wondering because when I have tried to look up parts on ebay ect when it says "fits such and such modle UT******" my modle UT is never there. Anyone know what's this is about? Are the parts on all super ez autos the same or did they change over the years. Right now I am just worried about the gaskets but it would be nice to know for down the road. Was gonna start a new post but figger I would throw it up in the homelite sticky and see if anyone knows the answer. Thanks:jeff
