I just won a wiz bow saw off ebay. It rolls over but isn't running evidently. Can't wait to tear into it. I'll have lots of questions :biggrinbounce2:

The saw I got is silver, unpainted. What's the original color for one of these saws?

A standard Wiz was Homelite Blue, like a C-5 or a Zip. The Super Wiz saws were mostly Red/Green or Red/Black.

Homelite Coffin

I just got my new (to me ) coffin for one of my EZ's...

Maybe the carb kit will turn it into a case :biggrinbounce2:

I am slow but really

I have a pile of (homelite) saws some in cases, I needed to read the quote three times before I realized the humor. Two of them are officially in coffins. seems like those little ones come in coffins.

Coffin = non running.

With that thought is there such a item Like a chainsaw bassenet(sp) when you save one, or create a good runner out of a pair of other one's.

On another note is there any one who would be willing to form an opinion about the value of longer bars.
I have a quite a few long bars 36" and longer is considered long for discussion purposes. Longest ones are 60 "
I used to rate or price the 404 and 375 stuff at $1 per inch for the chain and the bar would be about 1/2 the dollar amount of a equalivalent new bar. I am having a hard time finding new bars now so does the value of the used ones go up. (supply and demand)?
I am starting to get folks calling randomly looking for long bars for wall hangers, I am starting to think that they might be reselling them.

I am not talking new or perfect used bars. I am refering to the working bars that are straight, usable, but if you were sawing large timber for a living you would most likely have as a back up.

Any one have an opinion that doesn't sound like "Just send those 1/2 x 60 bars to me and I will give you an Idea what they are worth";)

good day mike

Value on your bars can vary. Depending on condition, Brand and type. If they are Roller Nose they would be worth more than the convertional Hard Nose bar. And Sprocket nose bars would be in the middle somewhere.
There have been a few bars on ebay lately and the last 36 inch roller nose bar went very reasonable, less than 30 bucks. And the longer the bar the more value it will have.

If I'm sawing large timber, I probably don't run large Homelites nowadays. Showing these beauties off doesn't require pristine condition parts, and thats a darn fine thing because I don't have a stash of NOS or the funds to purchase a lot of new stuff for the rarer things. To the folks who want a wall hanger, I would sell (or give if I was feeling Christmasy) something I couldn't use or sell to someone who wanted to fix something up. But once I have the cash, I guess its up to whoever what they do with whatever. I suspect you'll get a couple private messages from your post, and am cynical enough to imagine a clever marketing ploy. If so, kudos. If not, sorry.

That was the thought with this one. The saw is very clean and I have a EZ automatic in even nicer shape that came in a flimsy sorta case that ran but now needs carb rebuilt I suspect. Coffin will become a nice case again.

Anyone want to help me feel better than i do now order them 330 boots on my website and use paypal to pay for them that will help me out alot

I'd feel better if I had Mac 15 rings and Some other parts I ordered in my post box soon.

I am with you, I do the christmasy thing every once and awhile. (BTW I did get some PM's) some of these bars have oregon roller noses on them. that must have been a fairly popular swap/repair back in the day.

Super 2 help

Anyone have a super 2 with the H and L adjustment carb that wouldn't mind snapping a picture of the throttle linkage for me. I cant seem to get the thing set up correctly.
