Is a C-91 handle the same as on a 1050?

Are you refering to the front handlebar? The mounting boss locations and such are the same. You can interchange handlebars. Many 1050s were sold with 'single wrap' bars that were basicaly the same as what you'd find on a C-Series saw. The rear handle/carb box is basicaly the same as what was on the C-91 as well. Many 1050 rear handle/carb boxes had provission for the third "idle adjust" screw thingee that many of the 1050's had. Those of course would have a different part number. I believe that's the only difference. All of the rear handle/carb box castings have provissions for both the single 'flat' reed setup of the C5-C72 saws as well as the 'pyramid reed' setups used on the C9, C91, and XP-series saws...

195??? Homelite

Can anybody send me an IPL for my unidentified Homie? No tag, looks like a Zip, EZEE, or a 600D. Its all blue (was anyway), direct drive, with a fairbanks-morse recoil set-up. Also it's got a "Brown" carby.
The recoil doesn't catch til the rope is half way out, with a seriously fast pull. I'm sure it's missing parts, or just assy'd a##bacwards. Any help is appreciated.

If it's all blue, DD, and is equipped with an FM-type starter and a Brown carb (which you can get kits for from Sugar Creek.............or you can just swap on a Tillotson HL) then it's most likely a Zip. An EZ or EZ-6 would be red/green and have a ball ratchet type starter. 600D would be red, and would have a Tillotson HL. Most of the Zips had Tillotsons, but a few (including yours) did have the Brown carbs...

Can Any body help with an IPL? I'd like to get the recoil working correct.
No issues width the carby. Plus I've got a low compression EZ-6 ( six HP, my a$$) thats gonna be a parts donnar. It's a wall hanger anyway. I'll keep it looking complete. But the blue one I'd like to run once in a while....I guess we'll call it a Zip

Thanks Calvin, I'll check out your inventory, I might be needing new pawls, and the little fiber washers that shim out the assy.

Where does the starting instruction decal go on my Super XP-1050?

Hi Brad,

The instruction decal is placed to the left of the gas cap on the top of the tank. Here is a pic of a new Super 1050 showing the decal mounted in this way. This beautiful saw is owned by member Brian VT.

Hope this helps,

Chris.

Super XL starter housing bolts

I received a Super XL power head in the mail from a fellow AS member. He had indicated that the starter housing was missing the bolts when he sent the saw. While I have 4 running SXL's, I have no parts saws. I pulled a long and short bolt from one of my other saws and could not find a match at the local hardware store. Does anyone have an IPL that lists the size or 4 bolts that they could spare?

Here are 2 new to me, old Homies. My UPS guy hooked me up on these 2, and the fellow that gave them to me said he has 4 more saws at home that I can have, as soon as he digs them out of the basement. He said they were another XL, 2 Super 2's and an old Mac. I got caught in a 20 car pileup on the way home so I was pretty tired when I got here. But, I just had to see if the 924 would fire, a shot of mix down the carb and life sprang forth. I can see why so many people like this saw. It sound like it makes serious power and it's only a little bigger than the Super XL, and noticebly smaller than my 1050. I'd say today was a good day, Joe.
