I seen you're profile a while back. Knew you was a printer. There are several printers on this site, A couple hasn't been on in a while. Sounds like you've run the big machines. Those big webs go through a lot of paper in a day.
I ran some of the big webs. I never got to the giant newspaper presses, but I've ran several of the medium size ones. When I was a printer we ran the inserts for the Sunday papers. I couldn't even begin to estimate how many billions of copies I've ran in my life. Then I went to work as a press installer and traveled all over the USA and Canada working on every kind of web press known to man I think. I've lost count of how many types of presses I've ran. I stopped counting after 20. I've run everything from a Multi 1250 to a Miller TPJ sheetfed, and dozens of Goss Community, Urbanite, and even their HV. I ended up being the Senior Press Installer for Web Press Corp out of Renton, WA.

I really enjoyed printing and was darn good at it. But I really liked the mechanical side if it better. Lots of travel on someone else's dime, and a really good feeling of satisfaction from saving some publishers ass when they couldn't get their paper out. I'd swoop in and save the day.

The guy who's job I took at Web Press went out on a few jobs with me when I first started working for them. He had a very creative way of doing his expenses. One time, he actually charged a hooker on his expense account. He put her down as a "Tool adjustment". Now that's creative. :hmm3grin2orange:
