a few years ago, i had a tough task - cut down an old hunting shack and salvage the framing for relocation. effectively i took the shack and laid it on the ground like a loaf of bread and we then striped the sheeting and moved/towed the framing intact (barn style joist/rafters)....
This was very dicey cutting and safety chain wouldnt/couldnt have work in this situation - bore cut through sheeting and roof/walls covering and loads of nails, steel sheeting etc... in retrospect a demo saw would have been a better choice, but doing this from a step ladder with dad's hand on my a$$ for support was 'questionable' at best and a light unit was required, i used my pp260 with a junk bar/chain...
I always put safety chain on my loaners and keep those in as safe as condition as possible (i consider a chainsaw the most dangerous piece of equipment a - my saws, i get abit loose with safety features but havent really found safety chain causing me much trouble....
