Poulan, Jonsered, and husky are all the same company. Electrolux (sp?)

The consumer products from husky, smallest saws, riding and push mowers are virtualy the same as the poulan products.

I noticed this last summer when my store started selling riding lawnmowers. The only difference between the poulans and the lower end husky riders was, color and the flourishes (cup holders etc), and the price.

The poulan wild thing is pretty much the same thing as the Husky 142

The difference is that the Wild Thing is the biggest saw in the Poulan line, the 142 is just about the smallest saw in the Husky line.

The Company name is Husqvarna Group, http://www.husqvarna.com/ and it is not just saw's.
I have one Partner 420, this type is made by Poulan, and I have some older Husqvarna 36, this is the same as 136, and 142. and there is a big difference in this engine from Poulan and from Husqvarna.

Well, here is one picture of two crankshafts from Husqvarna 36, and they are from Sweden.
Does anyone really think Poulan get their crankshaft’s from Sweden, I don’t think so. :hmm3grin2orange:

I just called the technical support line at Poulan and they told me that the Wild Thing is also the same as the Husqvarna saws. Now I can't understand why anybody pays so much money for a Husqvarna when you can get a Wild Thing for a fraction of the price.:help:

Well, just to give some more feedback:greenchainsaw:
This is from when I took apart the Husky 36 -92, there is some dirt yes, but this saw was given to me, anyone of mine saw's is cleaner then this one. But the issue is that this engine is not what a Poulan engine look like.

How do the crank and connecting rod get lubed? It appears the fuel tank is in the rear handle. Is the oil tank plastic? You would'nt want your crank beating your bar oil into a froth anyway. Cannot remember the last time my crank beat anything into a froth.;)

In saws with mag. cases oil tank is metal too... Crank and rod get lubed by mix like in all 2-strokers...

Also poulan assembled huskies dont have "made in sweden" tag afaik...

Well, it's like this on the old Husky 36; Plastic Parts have "EM original" mark, some engine parts have "SWEDEN" mark, and there is a alu tag that have "HUSQVARNA 36 MADE IN U.S.A."
