Not so fast Ted. Those brake type clutch covers go for good money on feebay. A feller can swap on an earlier, non-brake cover easy enough. That's a way to recoup some of the cash outlay...:D

Or just do what everyone else in the world did....Snap them off on purpose.

I'm not a big fan myself, but leave them as-is if I can.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on an older style 10 series clutch cover for my PM700 instead of the chainbrake.

I am strictly voicing a prefernce for my personal use. I do realize that the safety devices have their place in this world. Also have noticed how the brake-equipped versions of some saws do fetch more $$ on eBay.

Chris - If I had a parts saw with one, you know I'd already have it packaged up for ya ...

My PM700 is the only Mac I have with a brake. I'll probably leave it as-is. May put a non-brake cover on it someday if one comes my way. My 10-10A has a non-brake cover. My SP-81 also has a non-brake clutch cover. I like the looks of them on those saws. More "clean". I also happen to have a complete brake-type clutch cover for the saw (looks like the brake-type cover in that SP-81 CL listing). Doubt I'll ever put it on the saw. I may end up with a CP-70 or SP80/81 saw without a clutch cover someday. Until then...........the brake-type cover I have isn't taking up too much room in the parts box...:D

I knew them Virginia guys really knew how to handle a saw.

I usually do that one handed stuff with my Mall 0MG.

My left thumb being firmly wrapped around that handle is my chainbrake. I'm not opposed to them, if they do have one I'll leave it as is and I'm not scared if they don't.

That ad rocks!!!

He takes: turkeys, cows, pigs, wood flooring, chain link fence, fix my air conditioner, crossbow, leghold traps, generators, certain old pocket knives, and things that go boom.

he doesn't mention it but....I wonder how many chickens it would take to pay for an 075?:msp_confused:

Well there ya go .... I CAN find more than dead mice.

P.S. Hey has anybody nabbed that 346XP in Charlotte for me yet?

TIA!
