In was a BIN, best offer to be exact.... Was listed at $200 OBO

I can guarantee you that someone here got it.....

Mind you I said ya'll missed out...... Didn't say anything about me missing out........:D

My biggest fear is it will need a piston

I say keeping quiet (and acting quickly??) was a very smart move :msp_thumbup: on Johnnie's part.

That is cool with me, I still have a Homelite 750 to be my friend.

My heart actually skipped a beat when I seen the saw listed at that price, I went directly into attack and conquer mode. It could not have been listed long before I found it, though I was afraid that someone else was going to swoop in and grab it while I was trying to lowball with a best offer. Luckily enough I have had dealings with the seller, who is actually a member here, and he recognized the offer as being mine and he was still up at 3am to accept the offer.

Me too..... Is there any chance what so ever of being able to find a piston for this saw? I did a search and found a lot of folks wanting them and a few threads were members were looking to have pistons custom made, but nothing about anyone ever finding a piston.

You know I was just funnin' ya. Congrats!

I know you were funnin'. I am just excited even if the thing ends up as a non working wall hanger.

Congratulations! Best wishes for a clean piston in her. And heck, even if it needs one, they ARE out there.... for that matter, anyone that can find a pristine 8800 in less than a week after beginning a search is apt to find a box of 750 pistons in no more than a month or so. Proof you are living your life right!

So this may be just a bit off topic but you are the perfect bunch of Joe's to ask.

Seeing the price of the 750 above and watching certain large, collectible saws sell for big $'s lately on Da-bay (090's going well over $1000:dizzy:), I have a question.

I have a few (maybe more than a few) big collectibles and I know many of you do also. Is this the new housing boom? Will saws just keep going up in price? Is there a crash to come?

I think i'm looking for some helpful stock advice....
