Something "fishy' is going on......? This saw was originally listed for $500, then a week later it was $450, and now..................?
Professional 70 cc Alpina chainsaw

That's like the dude with the $2000 McCulloch 895. He's been listing it for between $900-$2000 (up and down and back again) for over a year. For the last two listings, he's dropped it to $400 (was at $600 for a couple listings before that). Still too much for that saw in the condition shown in the pics.................but at least he's getting closer. After another year or so, and I might buy the saw from him for realistic price....:D

Ahhh! The plot thickens.............good luck with a "0" feedback on this sale.

There is no rhyme or reason to cinderblock Mac prices.

You could buy this one for $275

MCCULLOCH CHAIN SAW

Or these 3 for $100

3 MCCULLOCH PRO MAC 610 CHAIN SAWS

Your first link is similar to what Jonathan and I usually see in our area. We'd never see a PM600 series listing in our area like the one in your second link.

Door Number 2, please. That's crazy considering they are from the same area.

Aaron,
My theory here in California is that the Yellow/ Gold color leads the sellers to believe these saws are somehow connected to The Gold Rush..............LOL!!!!

Yeah, but are they good in the HARDCUT???????

We have know way to know.:msp_sneaky:

He's shown in the past that he has no qualms about selling stuff away from here. IIRC he's also avoiding somebody here that he still owes something to. Somebody got a VERY good deal on those NOS Homelite parts. I could have used much of that lot.

Actually when I frequented here often I always posted whatever I was selling in the trading post first. Most of the time it never sold as no one here wanted to "pay" for it and always wanted something for nothing. Well then to ebay it goes and I always got a fair price.

As for Chris (DSS) yea he got his stuff. A little late as I procrastinated digging the crap outta storage an hour away from after the flood but he got it. He also got some goodies thrown in for being patient and a good sport plus an apology and good packaging so nothing got broke. You would have gotten that P-42 also if there was enough room in that box.

As for Chris (CM76) he will get his saw. Even though he paid for it months ago he didn't have anyone to ship it until not long ago. Well I don't have a garage since after the flood and its an hour away being stored in the back of my girlfriends fathers shed for winter with snow on the ground. I cannot empty his shed to get the saw out at this time. Didn't seem like it was an issue on how long it sat here when there was no shipping company!

That was almost all my stash that was left that went on ebay the other night. That stuff didn't last more then a few hours. Should be enough to get me a nice new pistol.

And as for this place I never abandoned ship and i still love the saws but when you have an apartment and lost your place to cut and play with saws...you begin to lose interest. After seeing your saws sit on the shelf silent for months you begin to look into new hobbies. Someday soon when I get a house I'll begin collecting and playing with saws again. They are just on the back burner for now.

This is all true.

Well Rick I'm sorry to hear that you had issues with floods, housing, and storage. Also am sorry to hear that these issues delayed the shipping of items you sold. You and I apparantly don't see eye to eye as far as what a "fair" price is (ebay market value or otherwise). I don't want to get into that, other than to say that I don't appreciate you charactarizing folks here as "wanting something for nothing" just because they don't want to "pay" what you believe is a "fair price" (based on feebay auctions I guess). You're free to sell your stuff wherever you wish of course.

I noticed that you didn't address the comments made by Tim and Ric (other than the "abandoned ship" bit). This isn't me coming out of the blue and "kicking you in the back" like you said in a VM. I was going to let your post here stand unanswered (giving you the 'last word') until you sent me that VM. If you feel that my part in discussions with those guys (and with Chris and Chris) in this thread has painted you in an unfair light, then I'm sorry. I don't like seeing people get ripped off (or at least holding the bag for a long time), and it appeared that way to me regarding Chris and Chris. As far as I knew, nobody ever mentioned floods, or loosing storage space, or anything else like that in regards to the delayed shipping of items that guys had payed for.

It did appear that you'd abandoned ship to play with new hobbies. It also appeared to me that you'd used this place (and this hobby) to gather up $$$ to jump into those new hobbies. I'm also sorry if I came to those conclusions in error. Looks like that was indeed the case. I shouldn't have said anything in the first place....:bang:
