Sometimes you search and find something. Work a deal
with the seller then someone spots it here and buys it out
from under you.
This thread works both ways, For the good and the bad.

Yep. I've had local sellers suddenly "forget" they had been talking with me about a saw once a few out of state phone callls/emails came in. They ignored my subsequent phone messages and emails afterwards too.:bang:

Another time I was JUST ahead of the jackels. Happened to see a McCulloch 650 gear drive (and a 200) listed on my local CL about 15 minutes after he put it up on a Monday morning (IIRC). I called him and quickly made the 15 minute drive to his place. While we were talking in his driveway (after the deal was made), his phone started ringing with out of state calls. I heard him tell 2 or three guys that the saws had sold already. He had that look on his face like he should have asked more money for the saws. Somebody on AS had spotted the listing and put it up in this damn thread while I was driving to the seller's place (I could tell by the post time). When I got back home I saw the post, and posted a reply of "too late for this one boys!" or something similar.:D

Dammit that stinks Bob. I was hoping you were going to post up with pics of your new saw. $500 to ship that beast to Orange, Ca? Crikey. What carrier was he going to use? I used Forward Air to ship a 250 pound truck transmission on a pallet from SFO to Arizona. That's a greater distance than shipping to Orange. Cost me $100 or so back in 2006. Sorry it didn't work out.

Hell no one would want to buy this ole thing out from under me.

So I ask, anyone near harrington delware that would look at this for me?

No pictures no price, you got to just love that.

1.5 hours one way is a little too far for me. There has to be someone in the center of DE or eastern shore MD.

Ha!! I just downgraded my ms311 from 20" to 18" ... a bit lighter, and really doesn't have the nut-sack to pull a 20" imo. :eek2:
