I spent a couple of hours cutting with one this morning. It doesn't have a Husqvarna label, the label says "Gasoline Chain Saw HH 365". I have a ported BB kit (77cc) on it and it does all my cutting on the big stuff. A new 365 in Oz is A$1,250, which is about US$1,337.

Most of the after market stuff is made in China - cranks, cylinders, carbs etc. Heck, even Husqvarna's chains are made in China, which is a kinda weird reversal when you think of Husquvarna putting its label on Chinese stuff. (the chains are rebadged Oregon, which comes from the same factory as the Carlton and Tiger chains)

Johnnie gas cans have to be red. All of the writing and logos on the can are yellow. Looks legit to me. I wouldn't pay $30 for an old gas can however.....no matter how cool. I like his generic fine print. How can he say the previous owner didn't smoke or have pets???:D

BMW and several other makes have already tried to sue in China. The bottom line is the Chinese courts protect Chinese industry.

Chineese courts don't protect dealers here in the U.S. from selling counterfeit goods with fraudulent advertisement and claims.

Stay safe!

I messaged the first seller with

"Dear summitpowertools,

Bad news is this saw is not a real Husqvarna 365 but instead is the much cheaper built Chinese knock-off. Key indicators are the black oil/fuel caps, throttle trigger, operator presence lever and decomp button. They should all be grey. The yellow kill wire, you can see through the recoil cover, should be blue. There should be slotted hardware securing the recoil. The hardware for the wrap handle, on the clutch side, is also incorrect. Last item is the style of muffler used, where that style was a option you would not find them on saws from the USA or Canada because of Forestry laws and they have no spark screens. If you compare it to the used 365 you have for sale, that one looks to be 100% legit, you will see the differences. I mean no disrespect but I would hate to see your seller rating take a hit for a honest mistake.

Recieved this response

"Dear roanoker-494,

Good eyes. You know what you are looking at. The description says made in china, and the price reflects that. I will adj the description.

- summitpowertools"

He has now added this to his auction

"THIS IS A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL HUQVARNA 365"

EDIT:
I do know the decomp button should be blue and not grey like I stated in my message but nevertheless Black is certainly not right.

I noticed the seller with copie(now copy as of this update) in the title has now added the saws are made in China to his description. Shipping to US and Canada only? Should sellem back to China

The Chinese are too smart for that... they don't want them. They just want to offload them on whoever isn 't smart enough...

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

You would figure a McCulloch gas can would have some yellow on it somewhere?? Wonder what something like is is actually worth?? Fairly certain the $300 asking price is just a little steep.

I offered $30 and they countered with $199. Plus a long story about how clean it was and you'll never find another one like it ... must not have seen that a bunch of them have sold recently. Not as clean, but they are there.

Mac PM100 stuff

Good morning, scouts ...

If you're doing a Mac PM1000 fix-up, you may be interested to know there's an eBay seller with clutch/recoil stickers; their eBay name is 'minosiwalker' .. don't know if they are a member here.

Bryce also has the top cover sticker available ...

Gas cans and collectibles is a whole different market. Have watched the Stihl cans bring big coin in the past.

Yes there have been a few similar Mac cans recently but one in this shape is very rare.

Would guess a 99 cent auction would bring at least 100-150 or more if the right guys were watching..

He just listed it so doubt he will wiggle too much for a while.

He deals a lot of stuff through ebay but has also done lots of saw sales. Lives close to me and have sold him parts before.

Have had my Mac can for probaly longer than you been around Jonny. :D

The flying goose in the O tells me the can is older than I am, that is 50's-60's era right there. I am a 1981 vintage myself.......

I've got its twin brother, if anyone needs a pair.:D

Contact Duke Thieroff. He's into that 350/360 series, and may want one shipped from the Great White North.

it's called messing with loosing your dealer privileges..
unless they have already lost it...

there's a sthil dealer up the road that lost it's dealer privileges.. and just buys parts online and buys saws from another dealer the only give away is they have the "authorised dealer" on the stihl sign covered up..

Which Stihl dealership in our area is it Dave?

Ah. That's who got it. Enjoy it Randy. Ever get those SXL-925's up and running?

Yes, I bought it. I have a large Cannon bar to put on it for fun. I really like the two 360's I have and thought $139 shipped was worth picking this 450 up. I just have to figure out how replace the gasket between the oil and fuel tank. No, I still have two 925's semi apart at the moment. I was working on them for my small engine class when the class ended. I've been so busy I have not gotten back to them.
