I would like to see a photo. Sounds implausible for a factory-installed option. But who knows? Some of those older pick-ups had lots of extra space under the hood.

Henry Ford apparently did popularize charcoal briquettes < Kingsford (charcoal) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia > and apparently had special BBQ grills made that attached to the rear of some early cars (that did not have trunks). If you had briquettes, you really wouldn't need the chainsaw?

Would it not get a little hot under the hood for a saw full of gas? A lot of those camper specials had big blocks.

There is a feller in Roanoke that collects old Fords and has several of those grills.

Those saws were sold through Ford tractor, not Ford MV.

That is what I was thinking but was not positive. The chainsaw came out for the tractor owners and in all likelyhood every farmer that bought one regretted it.

It may not have been a good fit under the hood but the camper special also had a tool box under the bed, IIRC. But, as you have said, the price is way too high.

No they didnt mount them under the hood, they mounted them on the left side on top the hood. :msp_thumbup:
