Dude that is such BS posting that in here. You're in ****** Ohio, and that was really ****** lame of you to put that up on here. I'll be sure to post up every decent saw in your area on here. Cool old saws are few, and far between in the Sacramento Valley, if this was an eBay deal I wouldn't care one ****** bit, but this is a local CL post that you had no intention of pursuing. I'm sure I'll get some flak for telling you what I think, but frankly I don't care. It was a really lame thing to do.

Have I mentioned lately how much I hate this thread? The listing has already been deleted. I'm glad it wasn't one of the saws I seek out. I do feel bad for my friend Jonathan however. Wonder which state it's headed to.....................or if a certain chain-reselling lowlife (who is at least in Sacramento) will have it in the classifieds for a huge markup soon....:sucks:

Dude, sorry. I didn't know I was only supposed to post good deals that were not local to any other AS members. Rather, I thought this post was to inform EVERYONE to good deals that we can't or don't want to purchase ourselves. If I wasn't in the works of buying a really nice Homelite 2000, it would be on it's way to Ohio. So I guess, I'll never post another CL deal here, since I'd never know who I might me hurting/helping. And don't worry about posting the Ohio saws...I will already know about them.

Keep posting man. If it was that great of a deal a local person probably snagged it up anyway, and like Eccentric said, it will show up on Ebay for a big profit. The only way to get the deals is to stay on top of the new CL ads, if you have to wait for payday you might as well just post it because it will be gone if it is a good deal.

BTW.......
What was it? The ad had been deleted by the time I clicked on it.

Get USED to it (see those with the attitude of below :( ) , YES, it sucks....

We've ALL lost out to even LOCAL deals because some JACK-wad calls from 1000 miles away, and offers $100 to pack and ship, OR BETTER YET.... they tell the seller what it's *REALLY WORTH!!*

Johnnie, I'm pretty DARN sure that AARON mentioned the ebay @ 4x the price... was because it PIZZES everyone OFF!!!

over/out.

Have a nice easter!

The saw I posted was a nice looking Stihl Lightning for $125. If I had the money available and was willing to deal with shipping another saw, I would've bought it myself. Like I said, I was waiting for a Homie 2000 to be shipped to me from out of state (DOH!) and with a vacation to New Orleans coming up, I knew I couldn't buy it. I just wanted to see someone from AS get it since I couldn't. Wasn't trying to cut anyone's throat.

That was a killer deal, bet that seller had locals scrambling to get there first.

So what is the point of this ####ing thread anyway?? Could someone explain the rules to me please?

Everybody hates it but everybody keeps on posting in it. Why is it OK for some guys to post stuff but not other people? Is there a list somewhere of people who are allowed to post things here?

Apparently it's OK to post saws none of you guys are looking for, but just how is someone supposed to know that? You guys want to have your cake and eat it too.:dizzy::dizzy::dizzy:

I agree. I say everyone should post whatever they want here in terms of saws for sale. I've lost out on local deals because of this thread but I'm not crying in my cereal about it. I've even had members here buy saws from out under me, after I'd already made an agreement on the phone with the seller. It's a competitive world. There are still deals to be found out there and there's lots of saws in the sea. So grow up and stop whining.

He ain't Beaker anymore, but hes just as smart as he always was. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes you run like hell or get slapped by the bear.

Hey, its nice to know some of these saws are out there, gives me an incentive to look. And nobody's on the list, the bay, or here 24/7 anyway. Its work to watch all that, so if they get it, I guess they earned it.

Doesn't mean they don't suck.

If somebody bought a saw in my backyard for cheap, I'd probably be pissed too, but if it's in my backyard and it's for sale, how come it isn't in my shop? Like JJ said, there's all kinds of saws out there and they're not worth getting worked up over.

Tearing a guy a new one for posting a saw, from halfway across the country or anywhere else, is BS.

I'll tell you about a Craigslist situation- I answered a Craigslist ad for vintage saws, and called and talked to what sounded like a nice old guy. He directed me to a run-down
section of a larger city north of me. When I got to where the meeting point was (a parking lot behind a defunct gas station,) the hair on the back of my neck was standing up.
So I parked at the AM/PM across the street. I saw the pickup pulling in that was described, but it wasn't a kindly-looking old man, but three scruffy-looking punk kids. I could
see baseball bat and some other large implements.

Now I don't know if they were there to rob me, but whoever I talked to knew I was coming with $700 in my pocket and they chose a poorly lit, fenced-in lot behind a closed
business in about the worst section of town. I was thankful to leave there with my money in my pocket and faculties intact.

This is a fun hobby. There can be real problems out there for any of us. I'm happy with what I have and I'm not going to get bent out of shape because I missed out on either
a deal or a beating/robbery.
