oh mark, jump on that bayabh!:hmm3grin2orange:
I'll tell you about a Craigslist situation- I answered a Craigslist ad for vintage saws, and called and talked to what sounded like a nice old guy. He directed me to a run-down section of a larger city north of me. When I got to where the meeting point was (a parking lot behind a defunct gas station,) the hair on the back of my neck was standing up. . . .
Dude that is such BS posting that in here. You're in ****** Ohio, and that was really ****** lame of you to put that up on here. I'll be sure to post up every decent saw in your area on here. Cool old saws are few, and far between in the Sacramento Valley, if this was an eBay deal I wouldn't care one ****** bit, but this is a local CL post that you had no intention of pursuing. I'm sure I'll get some flak for telling you what I think, but frankly I don't care. It was a really lame thing to do.
I understand that some people don't want others coming to their home. But you can agree on a well lit, public place, for the safety of all parties. McDonald's, supermarket parking lot, etc. If they refuse that, then you know something is wrong up front. You also don't have to go alone.

I actually prefer for the buyer to come out to the house so they can test the saw before buying. If not the only place I will meet potential buyers is in a particular area of the Wal-Mart parking lot, I work there and know where the cameras are aimed. Not to mention there is typically a full frame 1911-A1 45 tucked in the small of my back, one up side to being a big guy is you can conceal carry a big gun.

So I parked at the AM/PM across the street. I saw the pickup pulling in that was described, but it wasn't a kindly-looking old man, but three scruffy-looking punk kids. I could
see baseball bat and some other large implements.
Now I don't know if they were there to rob me, but whoever I talked to knew I was coming with $700 in my pocket and they chose a poorly lit, fenced-in lot behind a closed
business in about the worst section of town. I was thankful to leave there with my money in my pocket and faculties intact.
This is a fun hobby. There can be real problems out there for any of us. I'm happy with what I have and I'm not going to get bent out of shape because I missed out on either
a deal or a beating/robbery.

the great thing about being a big guy is it makes most rethink their idea of robbing you in the first place. unless they are really stupid:msp_smile:
Not necessarily, meth heads will try on anyone and if I go out to pick up an item, my SIG220 in .45ACP is with me at all times.
Wait,
Your in here looking like every one else?
So why slam a person doing what your doing.
Kinda odd.
And please post every thing in Ohio.
Save me the time from looking in CL.
